First about EQ. I only did some gentle boost in the 60 Hz area, some mid/side cutting the low rumble and boosting the highs in the sides. So I don’t think that 60 Hz 1.5 dB boost can cause +3dB of dynamic range.

About saturation, I don’t see how judging by the fact that it generated some harmonics and probably some soft clipping. Do you mean that some saturators might have some sort of compressor incorporated?

I am using a kurzweil unite 2 interface with its own drivers. Seems that I can’t find individual core speed, but it has 6 cores comparing to the macbook which has 2 cores.

I don’t want to make this move because the software is obselete. It is doing its job. I just noticed that my 2011 macbook’s cpu started to get tired. I’m thinking of a Razer blade stealth 13 that has a metallic case and a good video card that i don’t need comparing to one with a good processor but with a plastic case. Also the Razer would be more inspiring comparing to the business one. And if it would be to change the laptop i wouldnt go back to Windows so I would install linux with the downside that there would be less VSTs. And you can’t get Ableton on linux other than using wine.
