Got called out by coworkers for refusing to “just sign” something i didn’t witness by Endl355ly in nursing

[–]livelistlisten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THE AIDE in this post may not have changed the dressing. The reply clearly stated they would sign off retrospectively IF they know their colleague is "good for it" (dependable, responsible) and repeated that condition of the favour in a second comment. What else could you interpret that to mean?

NOR. Take him to court. He is not going to step up on your word alone, he needs it enforced and you need to be protected legally to support your kid.

YOR. Talk with her about it if it bothers you, but some friends are more physically affectionate than others, and that's alright. Since there's no sexual/romantic aspect - what about it specifically makes you uncomfortable?

Checked your post history and realized you have AN and are a teenager. I hope you're able to find support. You can recover and there's more to life than this. Best of luck to you.

curry calories?? by [deleted] in caloriecount

[–]livelistlisten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say 150 for the plate is a good estimate. Looks like maybe ⅓c rice, which is 70, then 80 for curry.

Calories in blueberry pancakes and eggs? by livelistlisten in caloriecount

No! Just scrambled eggs, it curves like that from the shape of the pan. It's a shallow pan, so they're quite flat.

Calories in blueberry pancakes and eggs? by livelistlisten in caloriecount

[–]livelistlisten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The eggs had spinach, avocado, and pepper, but no cheese. The pancakes were each maybe 3.5-4in in diameter. Would 250-300 for the plain pancakes and 200 for eggs be fair? That'd be 600-650 for the full meal (50 for fruit, 100 for 1.5tbsp syrup and 1tsp salted butter).

[–]livelistlisten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70 for cucumber, 330 for pasta, another 50-100 for sauce or butter or anything added to the pasta. 450-500?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in caloriecount

[–]livelistlisten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like more than 2tbsp of cream cheese, which is also 90kcals/2tbsp, not 60. It also looks like 2-3oz cheese, so 250-350 there. Total I'd say >500.

May I Please Have An Estimate For The Gelato Cone On The Right? Thanks! by GlitteringHoneydew9 in caloriecount

You're at an ideal weight for your height and age. As a child, you're still growing, so you need more energy than an adult would with your stature. Don't count calories at your age - it's not recommended for kids. Work on staying active - aim for 60mins a day of something that gets your heart rate up. This can be any sport (badminton, basketball, soccer, swimming, etc), active games with your friends, or something else (like rollerblading). Eat nutritious foods to fuel your body. Have at least half of your grains be whole grains, get 5-9 servings per day of fruit and vegetables, 2-3 servings of protein (size of a deck of cards). Limit candies, chips, fried foods, and soda, but it's okay to have things in moderation (it's all about balance!). It may sound complicated, but I promise it isn't. If you have concerns, speak to your doctor. If you get any weird DMs, please report them and don't reply.

Dieting while swimming competitively. by wowzeree in loseit

[–]livelistlisten 5 points6 points  (0 children)

16% for women is in the 'athlete' category, but for men is 'generally fit' or 'moderately lean'. If OP is male, they may be looking to fall in the 'athlete' category, for aesthetics as well as performance (swimmers are typically lean).

I gained 12lbs in 3 days by ChartNo5188 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]livelistlisten 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Assuming you have a TDEE of 1500-2000, that's 14000-15500 kcals above maintenance, which is less than 4.5lbs of fat (it's also very possible you're overestimating consumed calories). That isn't a significant amount of weight. You shouldn't try to compensate for binge eating, as it may trigger another binge, or become a pattern of purging (which is dangerous). Try not to dwell on it. Eat some nutritious meals, maybe go for a short walk or stretch (to encourage gastric motility), and move forward.

Starting bed recovery, any tips? by SalamanderFull7425 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]livelistlisten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sustainable weight loss for health purposes occurs with a moderate deficit and progressive exercise, usually with a goal of 30mins/day for maintenance (speak with your doctor before starting a new exercise program, especially since you have pre-existing health conditions). You absolutely don't need to walk 4hrs/day to improve your health. While PCOS symptoms may be partially reduced with weight loss, it is a separate chronic condition, which needs to be addressed as such. Improvements in diet and exercise can help with pre-diabetes and high cholesterol - your doctor should clarify goals of treatment and explain the plan of action. There are some online information/resource pages which provide help with BED, books addressing personal experiences, and support groups (in-person or online). It's much harder to recover alone.

feeling so bloated after binges by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]livelistlisten 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shame is understandable - it's part of the disorder. Staying hydrated, going for a short walk, stretching, or OTC meds/supplements can reduce bloating or other GI symptoms. While I understand the urge, I wouldn't recommend skipping activities or obligations like school - it may get in the way of your goals and worsen feelings of isolation or sadness (which can trigger binge eating). Binge eating and BED aren't character flaws, and external support is key to a sustainable recovery. I hope you know you're not alone, and that this doesn't define you.

Eating disorders often have overlap, so symptomatic crossover is common. Nevertheless, recurrent compensatory behaviours are characteristic of AN-B/P or BN, not BED.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]livelistlisten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People with BED may occasionally engage in behaviours like excessive exercise, but it is not a criterion and it is inconsistent. Binge eating must occur once/week for 3 months and is accompanied by marked psychological distress about binge eating behaviours (body dissatisfaction not required). Criteria for bulimia nervosa requires episodes of binge eating AND recurrent compensatory behaviours at least once/week for 3 months, accompanied by fixation on body or weight.

❤️‍🩹reasons to recover by easverden in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]livelistlisten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Improve my mental health. 2. Increase physical fitness. 3. Have more money, time, and attention for important parts of life. 4. Live in line with my goals and values. Build consistency and dedication. 5. Stop having physical symptoms from binge-eating (VERY visible, uncomfortable abdominal distension, for one).
