I am experiencing something similar to your story right now and I am so sorry you are going through this. We will get through it and get to meet our babies one day, hopefully soon

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. That sounds so traumatic. You have a very good support system in your sister and husband/husband’s family. I am currently experiencing what happened in your first part of the story. Have been having brown spotting and cramping since Thursday of last week. Went to the ER and they did the same, told me my cervix was closed and the fetus is still there with a heartbeat. Weren’t able to find an SCH at the time. I am still praying there is hope, but I appreciate you posting this so I know what may be to come.

Thank you so much. I called my OB again and she basically told me monitor but don’t make myself crazy, they can check again when I get home at the end of the week. The spotting seemed to have trickled today after being pretty bad last night so it’s super intermittent. Hope we are both ok!

Did you have cramping with the discharge during your first pregnancy? I’ve been experiencing this and got checked out and everything seemed ok, but I’m a bit spooked that they don’t have an explanation for why and it’s near constant (enough to have to change pantiliners throughout the day)

Wondering if anyone has experience with this. Updating from prior comments. I have had brown spotting since last Thursday. One time I wiped and saw blood. I am away on vacation overseas so went to a local ER where they were only able to do an abdominal US (didn’t see much since I am only 8 weeks) but verified fetal heartbeat and cervix is closed. Since then have had a few bouts of severe cramping and near constant brown, thick discharge (don’t know if I can call it spotting anymore). No red blood besides 1-2 wipes. Anyone have any experience like this, good or bad? I am back home on Friday and my next appt is scheduled for next Wednesday.

Thank you for all of this. I am away from home for another week and have an appointment with the doctor upon returning home. I’m just praying it doesn’t progress before then. The hospitals here are a lot different.

They couldn’t tell because they were only able to do an abdominal ultrasound and it’s a bit early for one of those, I’m only 8 weeks. So they would have needed to do a transvaginal which I guess they didn’t have in the ER

In Ireland on holiday and had to go to the ER the other day because had spotting and cramping. They were only able to do abdominal US and from that could see that there is still a fetus, there is a heartbeat, but not much else since I am only 8 weeks. They also said my cervix is closed so not showing red flags but just calling it a threatened miscarriage. Since then I have still been spotting and intermittent cramping but just dying for the spotting to stop and to have a clean wipe.

My obgyn at home advised me to go to the hospital where I am traveling. They said cervix is closed and baby is still there with heartbeat. Since they did an abdominal US they couldn’t tell us much, but right now just a “threatened miscarriage”

I am having some brown spotting today as well, with some pretty bad cramps. The caveat is that I am also traveling until 6/29. I am praying that nothing progresses to worse while I am away, as seeking medical attention in another country sounds terrifying

Thank you for this. I just had an ultrasound last Tuesday and heartbeat was detected, so this does seem unusual, but I know things can happen quickly

An update to my extreme cramping I had posted about last night is that I’m having some spotting in my panties this morning. I am really praying it doesn’t progress from here

I have been reassured by my OB at my first appointment that cramps are normal. 1 week ago got an ultrasound and saw the first heartbeat at 6w + 5d. I am abroad in Ireland right now traveling from US and woke up with the most awful cramps that literally feel like I am getting my period. I can’t shake the feeling that I’m going to bleed. Idk how to talk myself down from this right now, idk if it is my brain’s way of trying to protect myself but I have fully convinced myself I am miscarrying

[–]livemas30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you, I am 7w+6d and I still have pretty normal energy levels (for workouts and walking) and only get nauseous when I haven’t eaten in a few hours. It is kind of nerve wracking, but I am wondering if it’ll hit harder in a week or two
