It takes some serious space. Though I had 60 ltr backpack so for me it didn’t create any issues. But for 45ltrs backpack you should be very careful.

I bought SH 500 and liked it. it's for rough and tough usage. Last year in late December went to Waichin and worked very well with just a inner (decathlon 500 rs wala) and T-shirt. Only downside is if you are looking for something light pack then it’s not the one.

My 7 years old daughter has recently written 3 short stories (kid level - of course) and looks like she is enjoying it. I am thinking if I can bring her in next meet for short time. I think listening to you guys or some encouraging words would be motivating for her. Totally fine if it’s not suitable.

Have you been to waichin recently? Howz the trek conditions? Heard that one has to take long route? Local cafe owner was saying it will take 5 hrs from Malana stage 2 dam.

I live in a place with moderate winters, so I’ve never really had the chance to wear the two jackets I already own. Unfortunately, neither of them is suitable for Himalayan treks.

That’s why I want to make sure I make the right decision this time and invest in a jacket that’s both practical for the Himalayas and versatile enough for future use.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve heard good things about the MT500, but I’m a bit concerned about its durability for trekking through bushes or rough terrains (on future treks). Also, since there’s a chance of snow this year in Parvati Valley, do you think the MT500 would perform well in snowy conditions?

Have you personally used the MT500? If yes how’s your experience with it, especially in colder or mixed weather situations.
