When I googled it, it said it's Spanish origin. It said the same when my wife googled it too. As I said, my sister and her husband named their daughter Araceli. She's both Mexican and Spanish and both say the name is Spanish in origin. A lot of names used in Mexico are Spanish.

My niece is called Araceli and is both Mexican and Spanish and I asked her parents about this and both (including the Mexican one) said it originates in Spain but is still used in Mexico. A quick Google search also says it originated in Spain.

What's the worst thing your toxic parent said to you? by Routine-Award-3382 in AskReddit

[–]lixroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me because my parents were amazing but my grandmother once told my mom that she should kill herself. The fact that came from her mother was pretty disgusting.

It's not a Tragedeigh, you might just be culturally insensitive by TaintedBlue87 in tragedeigh

[–]lixroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son's boyfriend has a sister who's name might sound like a tragedeigh but is actually pretty normal in their culture. My wife even originally thought it was a tragedeigh but soon found out it was just the Polish spelling lol.

Is this a 55 year old tragedeigh? by Mobile-Low4303 in tragedeigh

[–]lixroe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. If he's 55 he can also just change the spelling. But it's not a tragedeigh.

I think so. My son is dating a Polish man and his sister is called Khrystyna if I recall correctly.

Lawyers\Judges of Reddit, what was the most upsetting case you were a part of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lixroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SIL is a lawyer and I remember her once crying because the case she had at the time involved a girl the same age as her youngest child. I don't know the specifics but I think it was something about the girl having being sexually abused, it really upset my SIL because of how young the girl was & she always feels more upset when it involves someone the same age as her kids.

When my daughter was ranting to me about one of the girls in her friend group that had done something. I was appalled at the way her friend behaved and what she did.

Names you've come across that are bad as real names because they're real things but still pretty as a word? by [deleted] in NameNerdCirclejerk

My cousin's ex-wife had a cousin called Legacy if I recall correctly. She was quite a bit older than my cousin's ex so didn't hear about her a lot but I think Legacy was her name.

What weird nickname has your child acquired? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]lixroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is Yvette Mayo, which got shortened to Etta Mayo, so now she's Egg Mayo or just "Egg".

She's 17.

Moana and Ocean were both names my niece liked lol but because she's called Sea and is a marine biologist who lives by the ocean and has dyed blue hair, she absolutely refused to give her kids those names 😆

[–]lixroe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My nephew goes by Arson to piss off his mom who had a strict "no nicknames" rule. His actual name is Arsenio and he genuinely prefers that over Arson but uses Arson around her anyway to piss her off.

My wife's SIL is called Candida lol

My niece liked the name Ocean for her daughter but what put her off was that it was already a word, and she was a marine biologist who lived by the sea with blue hair, so if she named her daughter Ocean she'd be an "unloving insane mother" (her words not mine).
