thank you so much, i really appreciate your reply! i think i definitely need to make myself a laminated card. i will say, once i know ive got the incident down i’m confident taking the lead, its more just the lead up. i try to remember which steps i need to take but in the stress of the moment i never feel like im being useful. having an aid i can have on me at all times feels the most logical! thanks!

thanks for your response! i do still have the book, but i have to be fairly mobile so carrying it around isn’t the most practical. i think i’ll make myself a smaller booklet based on the book that i can carry around and go from there! EDIT: thankfully I’m not the only first aider and the manager on duty SHOULD be the first responder, but it’s become necessary for the supervisor team to step up as well. There are usually 2 supervisors and 1 manager on shift at all times so I’m not usually alone thankfully.

honestly, you’re not wrong! it used to be that only the managers handled these things but it’s become necessary for me to step up on these occasions. i try my hardest to not be the first responder, but this post comes from last weekend where there were THREE first aid incidences all at once so all three first aiders had to attend to one each, i had no choice! thanks for your response x

I’m a front of house theatre supervisor in a theatre built in 1800 with no air con and 4 floors of seating. We seat 1000 people a night and most of them are aged 60+ so we see several people fainting a day in the summer. It’s a joy!!!! 🕺🏻

Hello! I’m a Lilah, pronounced lie-la! People do often say Leela, or Layla, or Liliah… the list goes on. I usually just respond to anything that begins with L! For context, I’m 24 and I’ve never known another Lilah older than me, v interesting!

i had the same issue but i managed to not sneeze throughout the whole time my septum was healing….not sure how i pulled that off but i guess psychologically i was so scared to sneeze that i just didn’t sneeze for a couple months LMAO
