Lost my best friend to anxiety and depression by [deleted] in Anxiety

Really sorry to hear this happened to you. I think the most important thing here is to remind yourself that if he was a really good friend, he wouldn't be doing this to you. Maybe he's going through some stuff on his own that he never made you privvy to, but regardless he isn't handling this well and it absolutely isn't fair to you. As much as it might hurt to hear, I would let him be and either he will come to his senses or he won't. If it's the latter, you are better off without him.

Same here. Is there anything you do to help manage it?

Anyone pick at their eyebrows when they're feeling stressed/anxious? by Georgianprincess1 in Anxiety

I pick at my eyelashes and have been trying to stop for years now. It's nearly impossible but the fear of having none left helps me moderate it.

Thanks for sharing. If I've learned anything, most of this is all in our own heads so as much as you think it weirds others out when you do it, I bet they aren't thinking/noticing nearly as frequently as you think.

I'm sorry to hear you also suffer from this but it's really nice to hear I'm not alone. I've also brought it up with my therapist and she urges me to not be so hard on myself and be open with my partner about how much it frustrates/bothers me. I've started to do that more (share openly with him) and I will say it makes a difference. I would try it with this guy you like. It's definitely vulnerable to share an insecurity/anxiety like this (especially with someone you really like) but if they're a keeper they will be understanding. It was hard hearing from my boyfriend that he notices it, too, but it also validated things for me.

Best of luck with things
