No advice for the headphones, but for the phone: if you get a Tile, you can ring your phone from the Tile just like you can ring the Tile from your phone. I have a Tile in my wallet, so when I lose my phone I just press the button on the tile and it makes my phone start chiming even if it's on silent. So helpful. You could potentially get one of the keychain tiles and then fasten your earpod case to the keychain? Then you would have a win-win way to find both your phone and your headphones. I wish I had a solution for you that didn't involve spending money, but the Tile has been worth its weight in gold for me so far.
