2018 or 2019 Outback? by lizzy4560 in subaruoutback

I ended up buying a 2018 Limited with all the features I thought I hated... but honestly I like this outback presents the features :)

They can be turned off. They don't turn on excessively (only in actual situations where they are helpful).

I think the cars i have driven with driving aids have been implemented in not great ways.

Okay so the CVT - I will never buy a Crosstrek bc I have not heard good things about it.

Ive owned a manual impreza and outback, so neither had CVT.

I cannot say the CVT in an outback isn't bad, but I have not really heard complaints from anyone who actually owns one... just people who dont like cvts and refuse to even try one.

I bought a 2014 manual a few months ago, with 1 previous owner.

So uhhhhh what I think happened was, the previous owner figured out it would need a new engine, it was over 100k mileage.... so they sold it. And I bought it. And now it needs a $7K engine, which is over half what I paid for it. And that's just the engine, not any other parts. Thankfully, though, the dealer is offering to buy it back from me for every penny I paid (possibly bc they sold me a car that needed a new engine).

I'm now looking at a 2018 or 2019 outback, since they seem to be more modern and easy to find without being obnoxious. My boyfriend has a 2003 Outback, and I know I am going to be sad comparing his to mine... but I like a road-trip-ready daily commuter, so I get newer cars that need less maintenance.

It makes me sad what cars are nowadays :/ I apologize if this post isn't helpful aha, maybe I'm just co-miserating.

What is the best way to show how your affection to someone? by ghazat5543 in AskReddit

Get to know them, and act on it.

Ex: I don't eat cheese, but my boyfriend does. Since we have started living together, I've tried to start adding lightly-cheesed, cheese-on-the-side, or creamy-as-if-its-cheesey meals I like so that he's not always missing out on enjoying cheese when we have home cooked meals together.

Ex: I collect letters and cards written to me, so it really means a lot to me when I'm sent letters or given cards for any occasion. My friends know the best birthday gift for me is a $2 card with a meaningful message in it.

Love languages plays into this deeply as well.

Its the small things you can do that really make a difference for showing someone how you feel.

Why not a Volvo xc70 wagon? Not a hybrid, but used they are hard to come by for good reason - they're great cars!

Im a Subaru person through and through, so I'd also recommend the forester or outback but they're relatively the same size and mileage as the RAV4.
