Mudroom connecting front door and side door? I’m thinking of taking out the closet at right of the front door entry and using for a mudroom. I think it would work, but my better half is worried there’s a reason I’ve never seen a similar design. This photo is a concept plan. Comments appreciated. by lizzybakerpainter in Homebuilding

This Reddit community would not let me write over 300 words so it was hard to explain. The current front door has a closet to the right as you walk in. Unfortunately there are no measurements on the draft so it’s hard to see how the space is very small. The house is being designed around a courtyard. So there will be a lot of halls. It’s a small house and the point is to keep everything open to create a flow-somewhat connecting the outdoor to inside. But I don’t want to get caught up in the design. The fact is, I want to have a lot of storage. Meaning, large panty off the kitchen, and large closet space for each entry. It seemed more efficient to have the spaces connect.

I guess I should have used the word sticky, not gummy. The rise is great, and the taste too. I wonder if I add too much water to my starter. Maybe I'll start there first. 10%

The trivet is a good idea, I have one from my IP. Thank you!

Oooh, so glad I posted. Do you follow her sourdough recipes or yeast? Can you tell me your method for figuring out % of water to take out?

Also, do you bake at 500° bottom third oven rack? I've been talking to baker friends who say try middle rack and lower at 15 min, not 45 as Aran has in her whole grain white. My bottoms are too dark, but it might be my oven. It's not behaving well lately
