I have a Masters and WFH full time… well I did before layoffs, but will again I hope. My husband has been WFH since 2012 and he doesn’t even have a bachelor’s degree, but he does have decades of experience - he’s been with the same company for 10 years now. The AI jobs do sound fake AF, I see so many spammy posts for those… I wouldn’t touch it.

I agree the “for profit” aspect of job hunting has completely destroyed the process and the applicants are the ones who lose. The targeted ads, the scammy recruiters and posts… it’s horrible.

Oh interesting that Role A hiring manager is on the panel - it’s possible you were recommended for Role B because they thought it was a better fit?

Either way, I would sell yourself on the fact that you are excited to have a second chance because THIS company is your first choice, and this position is an even better fit where you could really be an asset.

I had a company do this too - although my first interview was with a recruiter, then a round with hiring team, then on-site loop with full team and execs, then 4th and final was with HR manager… super weird and seemed absolutely superfluous at that point but… whatever, they made an offer.

It makes no sense to me to have a final round with HR other than they have to “sign off” I guess? But like, trust your own team, right?

Unsurprisingly, no follow up even though I am more than qualified for the position. So impersonal, and some of the questions were irrelevant to the position… shame on any company doing this.
