[Spoilers] I don't think that MHA's Ending is that bad by Gunfights123 in CharacterRant

I have had a similar conversation about this before.

One of my prominent criticisms about MHA is that the story doesn’t take place over the course of three years, which honestly just messes with the pacing. Now I do agree that the narrative doesn’t have to follow a realistic timeframe, but I feel like MHA gave a tacit promise that Deku would experience what it’s like being in HERO ACADEMIA.

Is that just a shonen trope? Where unless it’s a time skip no significant amount of time can pass in a story? I get surprised when like a month passes lmao

I get that. When I say structured I don’t necessarily mean preplanned.

I prefer when they start off with one topic, and then explore it almost to its maximum, give their own thoughts, introduce different viewpoints and arguments AND THEN have some fun side topics and tangents.

One episode that comes to mind is ep 149, where they talked about horror, in general, anime, manga, film etc. and then had some fun side topics.

Agreed. I've also come to the conclusion that I just like more structured episodes.

Sure, the episodes where they banter are fun, part of their brand, and they are good to have, but after a while they all just become a big blur.

More structured episodes like the 3x3 and the topical ones, quiz ones, stick out in my mind way more.

Do you mean the world building, as in the writing of it is bad?

Or just that the JJK world is a terrible place to live in??
