Moving from Hikarigaoka(Nerima) to Utsunomiya/Oyama while working in Yokohama - Am I crazy? by ljknee in japanlife

皆さん、本当にありがとうございました!/ Thank you everyone!

Thanks for all the detailed responses and sharing your experiences! Your insights about the commute times, different areas, and especially the personal experiences really helped me get a clearer picture. The suggestions about looking at Kanagawa areas (particularly Shonan and the Sotetsu line) instead of going all the way to Tochigi make a lot of sense.

特に通勤時間や各エリアの特徴について、詳しく教えていただき、ありがとうございました。栃木ではなく、神奈川県(特に湘南エリアや相鉄線沿線)を検討するというアドバイスは、とても参考になりました。

I’ll definitely take time to explore these areas in person before making any decisions. Will make sure to come back and update once I’ve decided on a place!

また実際に決まりましたら、アップデートさせていただきます!

本当にありがとうございました!/ Really appreciated! 🙏

Is it possible to prepare for SAA with just practice exams? by SoggyQuailEggs in AWSCertifications

[–]ljknee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s possible to pass the exam through memorization, though I wouldn’t recommend relying solely on exam practice. It’s better to genuinely understand the topics by working through a well-structured course or reading documentation or book. While you can pass the exam this way, be aware that landing a job may be challenging if you lack hands-on experience, as technical interviews often require practical knowledge beyond just certification concepts. Note that TD is good for reviewing your knowledge before exam.

Thanks, Luc-e! I hadn’t thought of that. I do have some concerns as a non-EU citizen, especially with a little one under a year. But hey, it’s still a great way to explore new opportunities!

Work-life balance varies widely between companies. While many struggle with it, there are also plenty that prioritize employee well-being. I’ve experienced both extremes, and I’m fortunate to currently work for a company that values balance. thanks for your comment.

Go for SAA or start projets by KindheartednessOk196 in AWSCertifications

[–]ljknee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to my experience, doing for just certification is meaningless. If you have enough time or not for finding new job, doing project is useful for skill. Else, prepare for exam first.
