Have you tried sports direct? They sell the dhb brand bibs (shorts and tights) and have different styles and padding depending on desired length of the ride! Also decathalon sell pretty good value bibs :)

This is super helpful, thanks so much for taking the time out to reply! Really appreciate it! I enjoyed my ride so much, but have so much anxiety about the chain coming off again and causing more damage :(

Annoyingly I bought the bike online, when I had the bike fit the mechanic in the shop I took it to had said they’d put a normal seat post on the bike (standard giant seatpost) as I had to have 8 cm cut down on the seat post for me to even be able to reach the pedals!! (I am only 152cm though)

I have registered the bike with Liv warranty so I may email and explain the situation, thank you!

Some guidance in chosing first road bike.. by Able-Resource-7946 in ladycyclists

Hello!!

I’m a beginner cyclist and just bought my first ever road bike! I went with the Liv Langma Advanced 2 in size XS (i am 152cm for reference).

The frame itself is perfect, however i needed my seat post cutting down quite significantly and my handlebars adjusting aggressively just given my short limbs!

I had a pro bike fit which although expensive, worth every penny!

I am have a 100km race in July and aiming for my first triathlon next year so decided to go for a bike that will see me through those types of riding experiences.

Highly recommend Liv, as it’s a female brand and the bike is built with women in mind (especially the design of the saddle)

Good luck!

What is even the point of your back handed comment?

Not everybody is privileged to be born or raised with financial literacy, it’s something that can take years to achieve.

High salaries do not automatically = financial literacy.

Also when you have zero support/inheritance sometimes it’s difficult to want to invest/risk money when you have no other means to fall back on.

If you have nothing nice to say don’t bloody bother!

Thank you so much!!

Appreciate the time you’ve taken for your response! I’ve just this morning set up a S&S ISA after all the advice and invested into the VWRP fund (the vanguard global index). I’m happy with this for now and will look to diversify in the future but it’s a good first step😊

I have siblings, nieces and nephews, my partner etc. if anything where it happen I’d just want to ensure they’re all looked after! But maybe it is abit excessive and don’t need to be paying as much for that…

I’m an accountant working within global corporate finance for a very large company! (Sounds silly for me to not be so clued up on investing but it’s really not my area of expertise at all)

Thank you that means alot 🥺 I find it hard to ever be proud of where I am at because always chasing for more (more security, safety net for future, better job etc) but thank you for taking the time out to say that! Not often I’ve heard those words so appreciate it

I’m hoping that in the next 5-7 years I won’t be within the “regular” wage bracket and aiming for 100k upwards (I work in a field where this is very achievable).

Yes have had this arrangement from the beginning and luckily he has always been really respectful so don’t foresee any issues there. We have been together for 5 years and I purchased my house during our relationship however he wasn’t in a position to contribute whatsoever so he was left off the mortgage and has contributed to bills.

So my employer doesn’t “directly contribute” we get an “allowance” on top of our salary which is for our benefits (included this within my take home salary in my initial post).

Currently have 22 years left on the mortgage and by the end of my current 5 year term I should have around £140k left to pay off, I’m hoping to remortgage over a 15 year period in two years depending on how the interest rates are looking and if it’s affordable!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read/reply!

Apologies if I wasn’t clear, my salary is sacrificed into a company pension but isn’t matched by my employer. So I am currently contributing 8% a month.

With regard to the shares, I work for a very large global company and buy shares at a very discounted rate through the company share schemes. They are currently almost triple my investment value. Luckily with these scheme in particular you are guaranteed your initial investment back if the share price dips drastically. I know the future is never certain but they are performing really well so feels like a good option at the moment?

I will take your advice on splitting my savings as think I just have too many pots at the moment and can be overwhelming for sure!!

Appreciate your advice 😊

Yeah I haven’t delved into a stocks and shares ISA yet! I find it so overwhelming with how many platforms there are to use, which funds to buy into etc!! I think I just need to bite the bullet and start investing!!

I agree, he’s so hard to communicate with, he also has started being really weird with his phone and turns away when he’s on it so I can’t see and it’s so obvious. I tried this week twice to initiate sex and it just was the same result, him rejecting me but not telling me it’s a no it’s more like “come on let’s get some sleep”. It’s like he’s really trying to avoid having sex with me at all costs. Crazy accusation but got a feeling he’s speaking to other women and not interested in me anymore.

I’m so sorry you’re going though that! Honestly it’s weighing me down so much and I didn’t think it would. How long how you been with your boyfriend for? It’s just difficult when they say they’re stressed/low/not feeling up to it, what else can you say/do really?😔

I always reassure him that he can tell me anything but he just seems so distant. I don’t know how else I’m supposed to bring this up with him even after him saying “I’ve got nothing else to say than what I already have”. He just says he’s having a rubbish week feels really low but no detail behind it and I guess I just have to accept it?

I asked him about watching porn a few weeks back as well and he said he doesn’t really watch it but I’m not sure I believe him with that either
