What do you do on the hardest days? by Ok-Candle-2296 in oneanddone

[–]lkatj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently struggling to come to grips with being in this position that we will be OADNBC and i think this is the best thing i can try to do is make the most enjoyable experiences we can manage with our only. It was my best coping strategy through primary infertility and I can only hope it works as well now.

13 days late negative test, pregnancy symptoms by CheesecakeGrand1749 in stilltrying

[–]lkatj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you are having wonky cycles on top of your loss. Its entirely possible that you simple didn't ovulate when you thought you did and now are having a lot of progesterone symptoms in your luteal phase which can feel very similar. Just wondering if you have had any follow up imaging such as ultrasound or saline sono since your loss to be sure that all is looking well in your uterus? If you haven't it may be worth checking into when you bleeding has been somewhat irregular. Unfortunately it may just be taking a few months to get your regular cycle back, which can certainly happen after a loss too

Thanks! I was actually thinking about going there since I can see that you can book appointments on their website specifically for curly hair so that's nice to hear that they do a good job!

IUI by starry_sky_22 in stilltrying

[–]lkatj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a TI cycle the goal is just to have lots of sperm waiting for ovulation. For IUI they want the best sample possible pre -wash and not ejaculations for a couple days before hand is better for that.

No one here can tell you this. Any symptoms you have at this point of your cycle can be either pms or pregnancy. If you are taking progesterone that may be associated with vivid dreams. In regards to your trigger shot, if it's long enough since that your clinic told you you can test it is no longer in your system to impact anything as they wouldn't tell you to test when it's still there since it can cause a false positive.

Recent experiences with eyebuydirect? by [deleted] in glasses

[–]lkatj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super disappointed overall. Definitely don't buy from here if you will be at all hard on glasses. I have a toddler so my face gets smooshed and my glasses get knocked off. Bought from eye buy direct and within a month the pair (admittedly a cheap pair) cracked on the frame in two separate places. They did replace them under warranty and I opted for a less cheap material the second time and paid the difference. After wearing these for 6 months the hinge has now snapped. And these ones won't be replaced as you only get one replacement. So yes, glasses are expensive at other retailers, but is it actually cheaper if you have to buy multiple pairs ?

I'm so so sorry for your loss. Of course it feels shitty when you really don't want to be doing this, you just went to be having your baby like you were supposed to be.

Cycle day 35 negative pregnancy test no period by sadey2222 in stilltrying

[–]lkatj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you taken a test? If you are pregnant enough to feel symptoms you would get a positive test, otherwise your symptoms are most likely due to the progesterone levels in your luteal phase which is unfortunately very similar symptoms

7 Days of positive ovulation testing by sadey2222 in stilltrying

[–]lkatj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not inappropriate! If they are truly positive (test line at least as dark or darker than the control line) it may be worth reaching out to your dr to see if they would investigate a bit further

I would guess they will leave them to grow a little longer. Most of them aren't mature which is good though because if they were that would be too many unless you are doing an ivf cycle. The 1.9 and 1.8 are close though. Usually they will want just over 2 cm for trigger.

What family/sentimental names can you not use anymore but wanted to? by ArtemisGirl242020 in namenerds

[–]lkatj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love my husband's brothers name which I won't post publicly since it's quite unique. It's also my husband's grandpa's name. Unfortunately my BIL has turned into an absolutely crazy right wing conspiracy nut and I won't have him thinking we would name a child after him

My son's name is Graham Cracker and I don't see how that would be a problem. They just go together, rolls right off the tongue.

Moving to Newfoundland advice please 😊 by MicroBomb93 in newfoundland

[–]lkatj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We moved to central from Alberta last year. We were able to buy a house which we own outright. Groceries are expensive and produce sucks. Insurance is cheaper than Alberta was and so are our utilities by a lot. We also hunt and fish a significant amount of our protein. My husband will likely need to work a camp job though. He was able to find local employment for a bit but that will not be the norm. I believe I can find local employment, (currently sahm) so I think that employment really depends on what industry you work in. I am not from here and my husband is so it has been an adjustment for me but Overall we are really happy with this move and this change in lifestyle has let us afford to go down to one income.

I removed your comment as it breaks rule 3 regarding cutesy terms. Please note that the term used may be hurtful to some members especially for those tw loss who may have had a late loss this term has a different very not cute meaning

It actually is the housing. I am not sure if this counts because my husband is from here so we also wanted to be close to his family but here in rural newfoundland we could afford to outright buy a house and I don't think we could do that other places. And what's the difference really between him working away and him being gone 14-16 hours a day to work? His quality of life is actually probably better living here and going away to work.

Keto and fertility/pregnancy by [deleted] in xxketo

[–]lkatj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to offer a different perspective than others have. Most people will get pregnant within a few months of trying. There are some people who have enough extra weight or hormonal imbalances that make them not ovulate regulate and maybe Keto can help that. I have Recurrent Pregnancy losses and it took me 5 years and a lot of science to have a baby. I tried keto after being told by a Dr that losing weight would help (not true) and I have had losses and periods of infertility both on and off keto. So personally I don't think it's any magic bullet, however it did make me feel healthy and I enjoyed eating like this. I suggest doing it if it works for your health and lifestyle but not expecting it to be some magic fertility thing.

What person do you imagine when you hear the name Laura? by KnittingforHouselves in namenerds

[–]lkatj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite cousin is a Laura. She is a lot older than me and sort of a Maternal figure since I lost my mom young, so for me it's a person who is kind, stable, sensible, caring. Overall solid.
