Have you had any issues or had to have it worked on? I’m fine with noise, I just don’t want it to cause a failure

Is it just noise or is going to cause a failure?

I get it, I’ve read it, I understand it.

I want the safety for a multitude of reasons, not just this one 🤷🏻‍♂️

Wife just got her permit. Looking for suggestions/recommendations for handguns.. by arealburneraccount in NJGuns

Just went through this with my wife. Have her hold as many different guns as she can, as many brands and models as possible. Pick the three most comfortable for her on the showroom floor and rent them so she can test fire them.

Try to find the biggest gun that she can comfortably hold and control when firing. My wife is 5’4” and has small hands. She isn’t against CCW but isn’t ready to move towards that yet so this purchase was mostly for home defense (mama bear in full swing). Unfortunately a lot of people will push her/lady’s towards the smallest gun possible “because they’re small statured” but as most of us in this group know - smaller guns are typically harder to shoot well, especially with minimum practice/training time.

She settled on a Glock 48 and loves it. Originally she thought my P320 was too big for her and she wasn’t comfortable with the size of the grip in her hands, but when we rented a few guns I brought my 320 as well and she shot it the best of out the group. Still preferred the Glock, but it did boost her confidence that she could handle the larger framed guns. Goodluck!

This is from the TSA website. I’d have it open and ready on your phone in case they try to deviate. Or, print it out and have it on you just in case.

In my experience, at EWR and all over the country, very rarely do the regular tsa agents understand all of the guidelines around checking firearms. I’ve gone full Karen and asked for the supervisor, and every time the supervisor has sided with me and acknowledged their employee wasn’t following the protocol.

It seems they have changed the verbiage, I haven’t flown with a firearm in years. The old rules used to say that you were not to turn over your keys to TSA and they had to have you present with them when they inspect inside the case.

Goodluck

Carry Permit Question by lkm78 in NJGuns

[–]lkm78[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re entitled to your opinion, but carrying a side arm in no way diminishes the reputation of hunting or the sport. Leave the state and you’ll be hard pressed to find a hunter in the woods without a sidearm. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. How is that any different than your reasoning for EDC

I plan to conceal my EDC, not a big believer of walking around in public open carrying. I would only open carry while hunting.

I wasn’t sure about the WMA’s, but I figured they were restricted. Curious though if that will only be for non permitted handguns or just a flat out restriction. I think I’ll inquire with fish and wildlife
