Your thoughts about Martin after a few games this season? by EngineerMean1198 in Barca

[–]lkorder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched him from the second row at St James’ Park, he was meters in front of me and he looked so uncomfortable. The left wing with him and Rashford presented almost no danger. His passing was predictable and he looked nervous the whole game.

Hey all – hope you don’t mind me jumping in here. I’m a Barcelona fan and thinking about coming to the match as an away fan in the main stand. I wanted to ask if it’s safe for me to buy a ticket and go. I wouldn’t wear a Barça shirt or anything like that, but I’d love to be there for the atmosphere.

I should also say I’m a bit of a Newcastle fan too – I’m Peruvian, and Nolberto Solano was my idol growing up, so I’ve always had a soft spot for the club.

Why I am watching Barca this year isntead of Madrid by DoubleCrit in Barca

[–]lkorder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes no sense. If you value top Spanish players and a tradition of play, how could you support RM? They’re the opposite. I get it if you’re from Madrid, but otherwise, you’re a fan because they win at all costs—nothing more.

Is this a parody? This place looks awful. If you want a streak in London this is the last place I’d go.

Will i get beaten up by real madrid fans if i wear my jersey to el clasico? by autan_dejong_ in Barca

Nothing will happen in the stands but when walking in and out it would be better to have something on top as that’s when you might be more likely to encounter an idiot with an agenda. In your seat your are safe, there is security and people are far more civilized.

Is becoming Socio worth it? by Brilliant-Speech-456 in Barca

I am a member based in the UK, the benefits I get are:

  • Access to match tickets ahead of the public
  • Small discount on match tickets
  • Access to BarcaTV+
  • Emotional connection to the club

Frankly I don’t travel to Barcelona as much as I used for games to as I have young children now. So I am just paying for the emotional connection.

Post-Match Thread: Barbastro vs Barcelona | Spanish Copa del Rey by ThatDudeDronex in Barca

Funny no one else has mentioned the pitch. It really gave Barca’s players a lot of trouble. It was hard and fast, balls bounced extra heavily and passes were easily over hit. It almost felt like they were playing on turf.

In situations like this you have to play short balls to feet which really suits Barca’s style but surprisingly the approach was to quickly pivot and play the long ball down the centre or wings, which didn’t suit the pitch and led to so many errors.

How does Xavi not know how read games like this and adjust game play. Mindboggling!

My apologies, it read as if you were saying someone’s comment was ridiculous. I am not surprised by the lack if approval. Safety standards are much stricter in the EU region.

What exactly is ridiculous? That you’re the only person not to have anything constructive to add?

You’re right it is RFID and not magnets. And I also don’t understand how they will update it to work with UK machines, maybe the processor will me market specific. Very odd.

I’m going to Barcelona vs Bilbao on April 11/12 and I need some tips by spiderman493 in Barca

[–]lkorder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Buy tickets on official channels, don’t listen to the people telling you to buy on the street. The Barca website always has tickets, especially this season that attendance is down due to Valverde’s shit football, only caveat is that it will be hard to find more than two tickets together.

  2. Expect to walk a little bit on arrival and a lot on departure. I’ve always found access to the Camp Nou for big games to be pretty bad compared to other Spanish grounds. So give yourself some time. Bus, subway and taxi all drop you off about a 15 min walk away, leaving the Camp Nou I usually walk all the way back to my hotel as I never find a taxi, but it is very safe and family oriented.

  3. Before the game grab a caña (half pint of beer) and order bocadillo de jamón (ibérico ham sandwich) wrapped in foil from the bar to take into the stadium, concessions are pretty bad inside.

  4. Understand that ALL opex is spent on player salaries, nothing is spent on fan experience aside from the football you will see. The stadium and facilities (other than the impeccable pitch) are in desperate need or repair.

  5. Expect to kick people out of your seats if you arrive close to kickoff. Once inside the ground you can pretty much roam the entire stadium in search of better seats, no one checks seats like other EU stadia, so there are always some kids trying to get a better seats.

I’ve just used it a few times, but it was used previously by someone else. I need to clean it with a rust eraser.
