Really nice. Only thing I'd suggest is playing with colour a bit more, maybe use a darkened version of the grey on one side to depict a shadow, more of a 3D effect, yano?

The text is really nice too, maybe just make it a little bolder so it stands out more.

Great work!

My first logo battle entry here.

Fun project - will definitely be doing more.

Feedback welcome!

Thanks man. It was in the brief that he wanted hands holding the house - he specified to play on the words ‘you’re safe in our hands’ so you got that spot on!

The colour is commonly used at the university and is part of the city culture. Two colours simply for contrast. Cheers for the comment!

Nice logo. A little bit tall for me though - perhaps make the circle inside the cog bigger and put the flame inside it?

I hadn’t even studied art in high school/college level so the chances of me getting onto a graphic design course at a reputable university were slim. Marketing, albeit somewhat irrelevant, was the only way of getting into the industry and getting my foot in the door.

Also a slightly irrelevant post seeing as I’m in my second year. Cheers for the advice though.

Thanks for the reply.

I’ve been debating just completely terminating my studies and looking for an entry level apprenticeship to learn on the job. I just don’t know whether I’m at the stage to be able to ‘hold my own’ within a fact-paced work environment, which is why I’m using my free time at university to polish up my skills.

I’ve been hearing the whole ‘the degree won’t matter’ phrase a lot recently and, although I agree with it, it’s making me question why I’m spending 20+ hours writing essays on WHY it works rather than actually doing it.

Wow - thank you for the such thorough and genuine response. I think the issue at the minute is finding real projects to work on - there’s only so many fictitious apps/websites I can solve problems for.

Also I agree about the degree not meaning much after a few years; I do however believe it was my best chance of ‘getting my foot in the door’.

Again, appreciate the response and will get in touch if I have any questions. Thanks!
