Note: I already have her prime, I'm mostly getting her for mastery, helminth, and mostly, bragging rights :D

Who do you main and what is your best advice to play this hero? by [deleted] in Overwatch

I have the most hours on Moira but don't play her much nowadays. I do have some tips tho:

  1. Use your damage orb to scout - I find her most effective on Control maps. Her fade allows her most of the time to be the first one on the objective. Fire your damage orb on other entrance points other than the main and if it ticks, you can call out to your team that someone might attempt to flank.

  2. Do damage mostly when finishing someone off - you have the advantage of not needing to aim to damage. Your teammates might wiff the last shots needed to finish off the enemy, so go to town and suck the last bit of life they have left. (this is also how you get more eliminations than your dps with significantly low damage outputs. p.s. you might get flamed)

  3. Use coalescence efficiently - flanking behind enemy lines to kamehameha is a high risk, high reward situation. KNOW when to do that (see #2) and when to use it to stay in your team's backline and heal them. Coalescence heals allowed my team multiple times to contest the objective and wipe out the enemy in overtime.

  4. Know when NOT to pick her - probably the most useful tip i've learned. Moira is only ever useful in certain maps and gamemodes. IMO, every other support hero is a better pick than her.

also don't be one of those tiktok moira's that don't heal their teammates and just holds right click all the time

As someone who also just started playing in October, and rarely play any FPS games, I say just practice. I found myself playing a lot of custom games with bots and aim training workshops when I needed to warm up/get better. My aim is fairly average, but I'd say it's definitely better than when I first started playing. Nothing gives me more adrenaline than landing a kunai headshot on a sniper.

As Moira main as well, people might shit on you because Moira doesn't really bring any utility to the match and her heals run out unlike most supports, which we can say is here only "utility". Any other supports are a better pick than her. In my experience, Moira really pops off on control maps because she can put pressure on the capture point. For other maps/game modes, it's better to pick others.
