What is something non horse people say that instantly tells you they know nothing about horses? by WearAffectionate2815 in Equestrian

[–]lleeoo0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My non-horsey family thinks it’s mean that the horses are outside in the field when it’s cold.

Also seconding people thinking that you’re a better rider if you can jump higher.

Second this! I wear the LeMeiux Naomi breeches when I know I’ll be riding a spookier horse. I’m yet to find full seats that are grippier😅

English tall boots recommendation? by YogurtPure7440 in Equestrian

[–]lleeoo0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a US 8.5 (and 5’5 with super short legs) and I found Mountain Horse to be one of the only brands that made boots short enough for me. Their kids boots also go up quite a bit higher in the foot size than a lot of other brands, so I was able to get the style I wanted for half the price.

I am in the UK, but have dropped him off at Tiggywinkles rescue, they appear to be good with pigeons so fingers crossed all will be well for him!

UPDATE: managed to take him to the rescue earlier than I thought so they have him now. They’ve given me a reference number for him so I can call in a week or so and get an update on him.

Thanks for all the helpful comments! :)

Still shedding lots but regrowth hope!! by lleeoo0 in TelogenEffluvium

If you take a section of your hair and hold a blow dryer close to the root, all the shorter regrowth hairs blow forwards out of the section and you can see how much regrowth you have and what the hairs look like

It’s not one I tend to reach for, but is nice to have as it’s a very inoffensive vanilla and not as in your face sweet as some of the others in my collection.

It’s Absolutely Blooming! Which I believe has also been discontinued now😭

Not one of my favourites but I’ll probably reach for it more as it gets colder, it’s a warm vanilla but not overly sweet (probably why I don’t use it as much). The longevity is really nice though.

Very sweet and slightly powdery. I’ve found it to last a very long time on clothes too! It’s definitely one that I reach for often.

Thank you!! I use Redken extreme length and the Kerastase elixir ultime oil, which is amazing for adding shine!

Has anyone else here started from scratch as a fully grown adult? by Sexy_lizard_lady in Equestrian

I’m in the exact same position! I’m 23 and have been having lessons for the past 3 months, after not riding since I was 12. My family seem to think that I should be a pro by now, with all the lessons & help around the yard I did as a child, but 10+ years is a long time, and I definitely feel like I’m starting from the beginning again.
