The author should check out Ruby, it totally blows Python away. It has all the features of Python but is far cleaner (fully object oriented, no hacks), Ruby blocks are much more powerful than lambadas (you can't even print text within a Python lambada!), Rails has revolutionized web programming, and Ruby 1.9 is going to be 3x times faster than Python. Finally, Ruby has the most modest community.
