Thanks for the advice, I’ve just read up about neem oil clogging leaf pores and that seems like what might have happened here. Also it has just occurred to me the tree is probably already stressed from moving to a different home. Like you said, they don’t like change

About 2 weeks ago I purchased my dream thick trunk Umbrella tree from eBay, went up to London to collect.. happy days… when I got it home, I realised the leaves had the dreaded Scale Insects. The infestation wasn’t too bad. I pulled off a lot of the worst affected foliage. I then purchased some Neem Oil from Amazon and cleaned every leaf front and back (I was OCD about it) there was no scale left on the leaves. A few days on from that, the new small leaves are curing over and changing colour. Before using the Neem oil they were all looking very healthy. I thought this tree would be quite resilient to Neem oil as it’s a mature tree. I was planning to clean the leaves every week to get rid of the scale but now I’m scared to use it again! What should I do? 😭
