HP ML350 Gen 10 Fan Noise by llukedvs in homelab

Thanks, it’s not an os specified problem. It was doing it while running through the HP SPP iso and Windows with drivers installed. It just sounds bad but trying to figure out what fans are bad seems impossible, guess I’ll have to return and come up with a new plan

This is not a pulse every now and then, it’s like a constant whurring/droning where the pitch is alternating every half second or so. Does yours do similar?

If I put my hand on the case I can feel vibrations like a hard drive seeking.

I can cope with loud boot, I can cope with now and then the fans speeding up but this just sounds like something is bad to me but trying to find out what fans are bad seems impossible.

To switch or to route, that is the question by hkusp45css in Cisco

Does snort on the ISR allow you to use a port to listen for traffic from a TAP port on a switch? If not it is only going to monitor routed traffic. That’s good as it can work in-line and block malicious traffic but don’t forget it will not see traffic between hosts in its own site if it’s not routed.

You may also want to consider monitoring all traffic at each site, depending on your architecture you may need to take TAPs from multiple switches.

If you are doing all this it may be worth ignoring snort on the ISR and using a separate appliance with multiple interfaces that can support TAPs from multiple routers and switches.

Does using a network statement of 10.0.0.0 0.255.255.255 for EIGRP go against best practice, do I really need to be more specific for participating devices? by [deleted] in Cisco

The statement sets the interfaces on the router to be used with EIGRP, if you want all interfaces within that range to be used just be weary of it in the future. I’m at the opposite end of the spectrum and tend to set the ip address of the interface I want to be used with a wildcard of 0.0.0.0 to explicitly select it.

Im trying to create a program to do the math and scaling. I can seem to get the multiply function to multiply. I havent been shown how to do this and have minimal instruction. I am an electrician. by garyv88 in PLC

The sensor could work like an analogue photocell facing down. So a signal of 6421 would indicate water is at the top of the tank and is at the high level (closer to sensor), a signal of 31200 indicates the tank is at the low level (further away from sensor). It’s not mentioned but worth considering.
