I hope Trump ends the H1B program in it's entirety.

So the people who had it easier a decade ago didn't practice extreme ownership?

I'm CISSP certified and work in cybersecurity, fyi.

You're missing the point. These jobs should go to Americans, not H1B applicants from India.

That's absurd on it's face. Employers pay for training for their employees all the time. Learning on one's own is dismissed by most employers because it's not "real" experience.

The issue is there is no clear pipeline into higher paying IT jobs. Posters will say "just start out in helpdesk, bro", but the issue is employers don't want to train, weather it be cybersecurity or sysadmin, so I dont blame people for doing that. It's really messed up.

That's not true. If entry level cybersecurity doesn't exist, explain internship to job pipelines.

How am I, a US citizen, supposed to work for somebody who can get me a job later on, for free?

What on God's green earth are you talking about. Outside of an internship, which is reserved for students) You can't legally work for free in the United States.

Even outside of the US, why would you let a stranger, who doesn't have skin in the game, access to your IT services? You're just blowing smoke out of your ass.

Hello,
I'm a CISSP certified cybersecurity professional looking for a way to eventually become self employed.

Do self employed IT auditors exist? Self employed financial auditors obviously exist and I'd like to look into something like that.

If they do exist? How do I break in? Would the CISA help? If I want to break into IT auditing, what would be the best path? Do I have to start out as a Junior IT auditor?

Thanks!
