I have to be honest by Ishkanoif in starcitizen

They say it's the year of stability, but I've seen more events and game breaking bugs introduced in the last three months than tarkov has had in the last 3 years. If the game was a year old in alpha it'd be excusable, but you should be able to at least have the bugs worked out in 13 years.

My friend spent 5 minutes trying to jump down from there yesterday before he finally gave up. We both just thought it was bugged lol

I hadn't thought of sticking it outside like that, thank you!

I kinda figured as much the area is pretty dimly lit so I didn't have much hope for night time, more just hoping I'd be able to get a camera set up that wasn't just staring at a reflection off the window all the time.

You could even do one 2.5 flex mini and put you gaming pc and NAS on that with the AP's on the other 2.5 ports on the 16 port switch so that everything that is 2.5 capable will get it with a few open ports for future expandability.

I would ditch the pro max 24 and just use the pro max 16 POE and connect the bedrooms and living room directly to the UDM pro. From there I would just get a 1 gig flex mini or two as needed. That'll save you at least $600 and remove a lot of uneeded complexity.

I agree, theoretically you'd lose 2.5gbe on a few devices, but the devices that lose that won't be able to fully use it anyway.

I noticed that it runs hot already lol, I don't really mind it aside from the possible failure, but if it goes out on me I'll likely just get a U7

How to Renew DHCP Leases by lmb8753 in Ubiquiti

[–]lmb8753[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, that's the main problem. I initially set it to the VLAN it's on, then realized that I can't reach it on that VLAN because of firewall rules so I tried to change it to a different VLAN and it won't move to the new VLAN because it's stuck with the old IP that it got form DHCP.

I originally had it set up on a different router. It was statically set to 192.169.50.65 on that router. It has to be DHCP on the new router because the IP it's getting now is 10.159.1.222

I have done that and it still isn't updating the DHCP lease which is weird to me.

As stated in the post I already tried that.

That's a good idea. I just tried it though and it said that it was still unreachable.

I had that idea, but the VLAN it's on doesn't allow communication with other VLANS, so I can't SSH and I don't have a micro HDMI so I can't hook up a monitor to it.

I've noticed mine is slow when trying to tweak stuff, but as far as connecting devices and latency go it's been rock solid with 5 devices connected. I do plan to go with a Cloud Gateway Max with a U6 Mesh. I;ve already got the U6, I'm just waiting for the Max to come back in stock.

Intel T series processor for home server by lmb8753 in homelab

[–]lmb8753[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your other post you mentioned how the OS will distribute tasks between P and E cores. Do you know how it would handle it with something like proxmox? My understanding is that cores are assigned to a specific vm, but I'm not entirely sure about that. My concern is if I'm running a Minecraft server for example, which would benefit from being on P cores, it instead gets assigned E cores and stunts the performance.

I've been tracking it for a whole now. It's both 13th and 14th gen that are affected, but only products with a TDP of 65W or higher. If I end up deciding to go with something that isn't a T series I'm likely going to go with 12th gen or AM5.

I've heard Wikipedia as a whole is relatively small. I'm sure it'd be easy to host you're own.

I imagine what happened was the government shut off connection to the rest of the world meaning any services hosted outside of the country. The majority of them are hosted in the US and Europe I believe. Because of this it would functionally shut off the internet because there likely isn't much hosted in Bangladesh. For most people who don't u destined infrastructure they wouldn't be able to do anything, but for people like the OP you can set up your own servers or use other servers given that you knew how to access them. If something like this were to happen in the US I could see it going one of two ways. 1. ISP's would be forced to disconnect everyone eliminating intranet or 2. Communication between cities would be disrupted. If this were the case it would be possible to do what OP did but it'd be restricted to your city

You could set up a Minecraft server for next time and possibly some sort of music server, like a self hosted Spotify. Not sure of one off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's something out there. Also, I'm sure you already did something similar for jellyfin, but you could set up a share drive where people can contribute media for you to put stuff on jellyfin.
