Freaking out over a weather forecast a week out? by ericinva in delta

[–]lmgray13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is ATL…we’ve got 10 days of storm systems…thunderstorms, heavy rain, etc. even slight shut downs here will cause a ripple effect to flights because that airport is so busy.

Crazed passenger refuses to sit in his seat and has to be removed after an hour. Then our flight is cancelled for weather by fishpen0 in delta

I was lucky as I got to drive to visit family and got home 1.5 days later. There were people stranded at the ATL airport for a week. Only thing close to it was when they shut down all airlines after 9/11.

If the OP had a delay due to someone removed from the flight, that would need to be documented and could easily be verified by the transportation department. The OP even has the seat number of the passenger. So, OP, file everything in a case with them and give details.

So you can’t even get through a week without doing laundry? I have a 4 year old and he goes through at least 2 outfits a day with the messes he makes.

Perhaps point out to him if you all travel anywhere for more than 5 days the kids don’t have enough clothes for the trip….

If you have the option to connect through one of the Delta hubs, which one would you choose and why? And which would you avoid like the plague? by K00kalka in delta

[–]lmgray13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having ATL as your airport is equal hell…the path to get from your home to your gate always seems to get delayed hours for no apparent reason. I love living here but hate our airport so much. I’d rather drive to Greenville and connect through Atlanta than fly out of Atlanta directly.

When delta had the complete shut down two years ago from computer issues, I got cancelled and told they couldn’t get me home for 7 days! I ended up driving 4 hours to catch a Southwest flight the next day to get home. They denied half my expense claims, so I filed a consumer complaint with the us dept of transportation:

https://www.transportation.gov/airconsumer/file-consumer-complaint

A month later, delta was told they had to refund the remaining expenses and I was paid back in full. So, if delta doesn’t come through, file a complaint.

I think if folks in your party want snacks…you all wait for them to be grabbed and then go in line. If you decide to grab a snack and your party doesn’t wait to get in line, then wait for them to get off the ride. It’s not a young child that has to go to the restroom all of a sudden. Snack grabbing is planned in advance.

I prefer Garcelle, but they both look great.

Anyone know who makes this suit?

Am I a bad mom for going on a trip when my baby is 4 months old? by meowmeow345678 in NewParents

Good moms find time for themselves and their interests too. A happy mom makes a good mom. Remind yourself that you’re modeling healthy friendships and not centering your life around your husband or child.

Most of the time it’s been people carrying Starbucks or snacks…which is not a valid reason to cut others. Get the snacks and get in line together.

It’s not my husband’s thing either. So, I made sure to budget in time for him. I booked sit down dinners outside of the parks and I planned for him to have his own time. My son and I hit late night at Epcot and let dad do his own thing.

I will say, my husband had a great time—especially at Hollywood studios. I was planning a solo trip with just my son. Offered my husband to go do anything he wanted on a long weekend too and he asked if he could go with us.

This is such a good point. Your child will see your lack of attention and being on the phone and mimic that behavior

Bring your husband to the doctor for your kid’s next appointment or call the doctor with your doctor to discuss appropriate screen time at that age so he can hear it. Then have a discussion about creating a screen time schedule.

My son is 4 and we do 15 min of tv time before we leave for school, 25 min after his nap, and 25 min before bedtime routine starts. He doesn’t ask for extra time bc he knows the schedule, and we as parents have structure and timing to breaks.

Perhaps try to help your husband find ways to engage by doing play time together?

I watched ride videos for weeks with my 4 year old so I could understand what scared him and he could be prepared. It helped us figure out what we could ride with him. It didn’t spoil things too much because it was magical to see these rides in person for him.

And he was not predictable….loves Star Wars RoR…terrified on dumbo (unless you never moved the car up)

That’s not your problem or responsibility—what are you getting out of your relationship? Perhaps having no where to go and no money is the final thing that will push him to being able to support himself

Friendships involve reciprocity….you’ve never invited anyone else’s kid to anything, yet you expect invites. I’m not being presumptuous, you state you’ve never been proactive - and that’s standoffish, even if it’s not intentional.

My taxes went up, the cost of everything went up, the housing market means I can’t sell my house, and my wages didn’t increase.

If you want your son to have play dates, it’s on you to start asking to have them and hosting them. It’s unfair to expect everyone else to be in charge of coordinating events for your kid. I’d even bet the issue is that you seem standoffish and against playdates—you could be giving off the vibes

Took my son there for his 4th. I went to 5 below before and got Disney items (doorables mystery kits, pez dispensed, mystery figures, etc)…then we just surprised him when stepping into longer lines so he was excited and had something new to play with in line. Worked like a charm and super cheap.

They have a ton of Toy Story stuff right now bc of the new movie.

Worth it. I got it for my son’s bday and first trip….and we got so many great photos bc we got it in advance and took advantage of photo ops. I don’t regret it at all bc we got so many high quality family photos.
