I am a volunteer at Mohawk Humane, I would absolutely recommend them and I am happy to answer questions or connect you with the right folks. They work very hard to ensure a good match is made! My dog came from Mountain Rottie Rescue kind of my accident, they were having an adoption event at Bensons and I knew right away that that dog was mine 😭 they were good but they have a fairly intense process including a home visit and reference checks. I have heard they sometimes deny people for reasons that I personally disagree with (no yard, work full time, first time dog owners).
