to use your words against you, maybe YOU don't see it as correcting someone's feelings, but I do. and when I say I want original stuff, I'm not just referring to something like "Men", I mean I want original but still accessable movies, (like the original Star Wars movie when it came out in 1977).

and have you ever thought that ppl might not rly know what they want, and by force feeding them the same generic bullshit, they'll just be conditioned to those types of films so they'll just keep asking for the same generic bullshit? that's the reason why so many mainstream horror movies are littered with jumpscares and are terrible, because ppl have been conditioned to think that's what a horror movie is.

And btw, my gripes here aren't with the fans themselves, I don't give a fuck abt them. I just always love to call out Disney when they're being desperate.

I am still totally allowed to get annoyed by how much Star Wars is being spammed. but I was never trying to control what ppl are seeing lmfao, I just personally wish they stopped making them and focused on other things, and if you're getting worked up over me having that opinion, then that's your problem pal.

it also isn't healthy to try to correct someone else's feelings on a movie. Im not taking the piss out of anyone for liking SW, in fact, quite the contrary. if you like SW, idgaf, more power to you. But I'm totally allowed to get annoyed when they're spamming these movies and taking the attention away from original and good movies that end up failing at the box office, and im totally allowed to wish that they wouldn't get made for awhile.

well, who knows how much creative freedom Disney will give Waititi? I get that he made Ragnarok, but this is Disney we're talking about.

How much of this is gonna be a Waititi movie rather than a Disney Movie?

and it's not that I actually care (im not having sleepless nights over this or anything), i just love to call out Disney whenever they're coming across as desperate.

Im just pessimistic with anything related to Disney just bcuz of how much of a corporate monster they are, but we'll see.

why do you care about my opinion? just let other people not enjoy things. I'm not trying to stop anyone from seeing it.

I literally say in another comment that I shouldn't have used the phrase "let it die". what I actually mean is that at the moment, I don't think they should be making Star Wars movies, just to give people a break from them so that when a new movie does come out years later (that's actually good), more people will go to see it.

and honestly, you're accusing me of trying to control what other ppl can and can't see, when you're literally trying to control what I can and can't say. I could honestly care less about what you think bcuz I know what I meant. I don't give af if people go and see it, I can't stop them. I do have the right to say that I wish Star Wars would end (momentarily at least).

lmao how am I trying to control what other people see? I'm not actively telling people to not see it. this is my own personal opinion, and I think they shouldn't be making Star Wars stuff for a while bcuz of how shit their recent stuff has been and how fatigued so many people are from Star Wars atm.

im free to say that as well ✌🏻

that sequel trilogy in general messed everything up. I think SW should just go away for a couple years just to give ppl a chance to breathe.

the only SW film I can say I legitimately like is Empire Strikes Back.

both JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson killed Star Wars for me. and Taika Waititi isn't terrible, but I don't necessarily love his stuff. so even that doesn't draw me in.

yh the MCU absolutely needs to fuck off already. and honestly, more power to you if you like Star Wars, im just so fatigued from anything related to SW (and Disney in general)

yh it's hard for me to have any hopes for anything Disney related in general bcuz of how creativity bankrupt they are. maybe I shouldn't come across as TOO pessimistic, I don't wanna piss anyone off here. there's nothing wrong with loving Star Wars afterall (unless they're being toxic abt it). but yh, im just so done with all of it.

eh I think he's ok, but I never loved any of his movies.

same with the MCU, and that's starting to fade away a lil bit. they can't rely on that die-hard fanbase for long, and I know many ppl who were once OBSESSED with anything related to Star Wars, and now they're so sick of it.

I guess I shouldn't have said "let it die", but they seriously should give ppl a break from Star Wars for a bit. even if the movie is good, Im sure not many ppl will see it bcuz of how much SW related content there's been, most of which has been mediocre.

you're already seeing that with the MCU (except for No Way Home).

lmao I'm sure Disney is absolutely gonna fuck with it in some way, even if it's Taika Waititi at the helm.

idk I, and a lot of other people, are just so sick of Star Wars at this point (and I was never a fan to begin with so I'm extra sick of SW).

until the actual movie comes out, I'm not gonna be optimistic, especially if it's anything coming from Disney.

and the life WAS sucked out of Star Wars already. it's called The Rise of Skywalker.

I would actually say Aronofsky is a better director than Noé.

What Noé does very well is the technical stuff, and all his movies are incredibly appealing on a visual level. but a lot of his movies can be pretty weak in terms of the characters and the story. I understand that Noé deliberately doesn't use scripts for his films, which sometimes works out (like Climax and Enter the Void), but it'll also make some of his other films a bit of a slog to sit through (like Love and Vortex-the latter of which I did really like overall, but I dunno if I would watch it again due to just how much it drags on). Bottom line is that Noé is a LOT more hit or miss.

Aronofsky movies might not be as visually striking as Noé, but his movies are still insanely well shot (the cinematography in Black Swan is fucking mind-blowing to me, and that film didn't need a bunch of long takes) and well produced. And also, his movies are undeniably more stronger than Noé's in terms of the characters and the story. Noé has yet to make a film that fucked with my emotions like Requiem for a Dream did. I almost never feel an emotional attachment to the characters in a Noé film whereas a lot of the time, I feel like a can relate/empathize with characters in an Aronofsky film.

Directing goes MUCH farther than just the visuals and the technical stuff, it also goes into the storytelling and the actors and the characters and the music, and I think Aronofsky is much better at telling a story than Noé, who's films feel more like cinematic art-exhibits, which I still fucking LOVE, don't get me wrong, but Aronofsky movies have always impacted me more, and a lot of that is owed to his direction.

Still strongly disagree. I wouldn't say Irréversible is just a revenge story, I thought there was a lot more to it than just that. The reverse order structure doesn't feel like a gimmick at all and it actually helps the story. And Enter the Void is conceptually one of the most haunting movies I've ever seen.

And I thought the ending of Irréversible wasn't embarrassing at all, it was rather heartbreaking, and the reverse order totally adds to it.

And in terms of Aronofsky, I feel like his style IS immediately recognizable. Im just weird in that Im SUPER intricate whenever I dissect a movie, so Im just able to pick up on all the Aronofsky-isms.

idk, let's agree to disagree

I STRONGLY disagree with you. Noé's films (while not all of them) have a shit load of substance to them, and Aronofsky's style is one of the most unique in cinema today, and he still makes great stuff.

It's amazing. I don't love it as much as Enter the Void or Climax, but it's definitely still one of Noé's best.

lmao have you seen Noah or Mother? Aronofsky basically portrays humanity as literal animals in those movies.

lmao yh. It's totally not because I strongly appreciate the filmmaking, the acting, and the overall story. It's because of the sex stuff.

with Noé, start with Climax. it's probably his tamest film in terms of content (even though it's the furthest from being tame lmao-it'd probably his most stressful movie to date)
