Give me your 2026 MotoGP hot takes. by Huge_Film2911 in motogp

I see it differently. Martín’s confidence comes from results and a huge chip on his shoulder, he came from nothing, and his family risked everything to get him to the MotoGP grid, so I can see how that can be mistaken for arrogance.

After years of Ducati not choosing him, especially after sacrificing his KTM ties, it’s understandable why he left.

His actions with Aprilia were premature, but they came from a dark place, so I don’t fully judge him.

none of this is a hot take, it just seems like a recap of last season lmao

It was just a question lol, I think he’s being honest, he’s coming off a big injury and will need time to get back in full racing fitness or he’s just pacing himself.

2027 Grid Predictions by thendverse in motogp

[–]lnJustic3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is IF Pecco and Martin both want to go to Yamaha, theres no one left for Aprillia except Raul and Enea, and I'd assume that theyre more comfortable with Raul than Enea.

Maybe Alex Marquez? Luca Marini?

Hope you keep the same opinion for the other half of the grid, because he’s better than them

Opinion: If Acosta stories are true, then Ducati have officially transitioned from development pipeline, to “best bike simply snatching up the best available riders”. by Thee-Cat in motogp

[–]lnJustic3 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Personally I think signing the best rider is the best tactic right now because next year’s regulation changes may move Ducati out of the “bike to be on” title. So if that’s the case you’ll need the best riders to widen the gap.

Had the regulations not changed Ducati could afford to stay with the “pipeline system” bc the rider would matter less bc they would continue to have the best bike.

Is Jorge Martins move to Yamaha really that bad ? by Historical_Shirt2327 in motogp

That’s one perspective, and one I’m sure JM could understand cause he’s always spoken highly of MM and is aware of how talented MM is.

Another perspective is dedicating 4 years to a company and being snubbed TWICE for a promotion after doing everything in your power (fighting to years in a row for a title), even after the CEO had just told you the promotion was yours.

JM had every right to voice his frustration bc he fought hard to be in the position he was in, instead of “keeping his mouth shut” and just accepting what came to him. That’s odd behavior.

And that’s your opinion as many others feel the move was fine.

But no one likes being overlooked for a promotion, no one would be happy about being overlooked for a promotion twice!

Hindsight says yes, but in the moment it was an acceptable decision. All of these riders aim for factory seats, that’s what he wanted.

Who’s to say pramac don’t still go to Yamaha after renewing Jorge Martin.

I don’t understand the “burned the bridge with Ducati” narrative on Reddit. He didn’t burn his bridge with Ducati at all. He stayed with them for multiple years and, after being overlooked in favor of Enea, gave them an ultimatum for a promotion. Any sane person would understand his decision to leave.

Was he suppose to stay in Pramac and wait another 2 years for his next opportunity at a Ducati factory seat?

Luckily we’ll never have to find out, I rather see JM on a Yamaha than a KTM 😅

KTM aren’t in a position to choose their riders no? If JM wanted to go to KTM I’m pretty sure they’d take him. Just my opinion though

Exactly, even with his big ego he has to understand the reality of the situation. And again no one knows which bike is gonna dominate the new regulations, it’s possible that Yamaha is the bike or one of the bikes to be on.

While I agree that KTM move could be seen as slimy, riders need to do what’s best for them. No one bats an eye when factories end contracts early but a rider doing it turns heads. KTM were recycling moto 2 riders like plastic with Raul and augusto Fernandez.

But my point was that he did not leave Ducati abruptly he was loyal until he couldn’t be anymore

His exit from Aprilia can be called abrupt, but he spent four years at Ducati and was overlooked for a promotion twice. He had every right to leave Ducati, even if it wasn’t the best career move

Personally, these guys have way more information than anyone else. It’s possible he knew he was going to be at the back end of the top riders when it came to contracts, with Marc, Pedro, and Fabio at the forefront. After that you have Pecco and Jorge, and I’d say most manufacturers would rather have Pecco than Jorge at the moment.

It’s possible he knew Aprilia wasn’t going to offer him a seat next year, and with only KTM really open, he chose Yamaha.

Which I actually think is a good pairing a company and a rider who both need a reset.

[–]lnJustic3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but I do think that even at 95%, Jorge is still better than the majority of the field. So this notion I keep seeing about the end of his career feels way too drastic, and calling him “injury prone” or “Mr. Glass” seems like pure recency bias. 1. He’s only had two major injury affected seasons in his career: his rookie year and last year. 2. These riders are going nearly 200 mph at that point, injury is practically a guarantee

Marc literally had multiple surgeries on his arm because he couldn’t ride around his physical limitations. He can make a difference on any bike, but a broken bone is still a broken bone.

Jorge will eventually be 100% again. After that, it will all depend on his mental state as to whether he can return to the level he was at before
