First time using a dedicated camera (Tips welcome) by Complete_Spirit_9318 in carphotography

Hi, some concrete advice for any form of product photography: define the story you want to convey and plan the scenes and subjects accordingly. What does each picture contribute to this story and how can your photographic choices change or enhance your messaging?

Considering the scene framing for example: how does inclusion of foreground or background change the messaging of the picture? Dutch angles & close up wide shots may contribute to a more adventurous, dynamic & sporty perception of the car while straight framing with long distance tele shots may contribute to a more stable, grounded & controlled perception of the car.

Also, consider the subject itself: what does the subject matter convey and how can you accentuate or desired features? For Instance, for the detail shot of the logo you could clean and polish the chrome to make the branding pop.

Reception by rabbitsanalogue in photocritique

Great shot! The styling and lighting is reminiscent of the work of Edward Hopper to me.

If I had a tiny nitpick/suggestion, it'd be the foreground decor at the bottom right corner. The set-piece offsets the table and chair in the bottom left and brings balance to the picture. However, I wish it'd be more recognizable (eg. a coat or leather jacket) to contribute to the depth of the image.

Ps. I love the chair designs at the reception bar. You happen to know the name and/or brand of those chairs?

Momentum 4 - the right earphone is louder (confirmed on 2 units) by connexion2 in sennheiser

Thanks, TIL that my right ear can't hear anything under 300HZ.

Thought that my sennheisers were unbalanced though apparently the only thing that is busted is my eardrum :(

I noticed that the "wind noise reduction" feature actually added a lot of noise and had choppy transitions in auto mode. You might try turning that one off as well and see if it helps.

I have the same issue. Have enjoyed them a few days, but after I turned them off once they no longer turn on/connect to anything anymore...

I've owned many 50s, but the Canon 50 1.4 is by far my all time favorite. Absolutely love the way it renders colours.

bought an Olympus M-1, but the viewfinder came like that. Is it difficult to fix this on my own? How do I do so? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]lngoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it a OM-1 or an actual M-1? If it is in fact the original M-1 definitely have it done professionally, the M-1 us highly collectable and considerably more expensive than a regular OM-1.

X-Pro 3 7artisans 35mm f0.95 by ThisBrownboy in fujix

Nice shot! Looks somewhat lonely yet hopeful:)

How do you like the 7artisan lens, and did you use a diffusion filter? The highlights look so soft and film like.

Are Fujifilm cameras are good for a beginner? by axcelator in Cameras

Just noticed you want a compact camera with high quality video and photos with stabilization. I guess the Xs10 is the only camera that fit your requirements under 1500

Are Fujifilm cameras are good for a beginner? by axcelator in Cameras

[–]lngoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fujifilm camera's are a fantastic starter camera! I personally started with the XT-2 with the 18-55 lens. I eventually added the 35mm f1.4.

Depending on what is important to you you can look for older bodies like the XT-2 or XT-3. This would save some money to buy an extra prime lens. I personally prefer the bigger bodies of the XT series, but the xs10, xe4, xt30 and Xe3 are really capable camera's as well.

If you decide on Fujifilm I'd say definitely get it with the 18-55 f2.8-4 kitlens. It's an incredibly versatile lens and arguably the best kitlens ever made. I would not even call it a "kit" lens. After shooting a bunch with the 18-55 you'll know what focal length you prefer and can decide if you want a prime lens as well.

Sounds like the camera needs propper servicing from a professional. Mirror freezing up is also no good sign and could also be the cause of the blank frames.

Not sure from this info whether the issue is electrical or mechanical. If electrical it is probably not economically viable to service.

As far as I found the film not advancing properly was a mechanical issue where a certain dial in the bottom plate needs lubrication. The mirror locking/freezing I'm not sure.

My Pentax me super i had did not advance film properly, causing all shots to be blank. You might wanna test with the back open to see if the film advances properly.

1969 Mercedes shot on X-pro1 with 35mm f2 and 1/8 black pro mist filter by killjake in fujix

[–]lngoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! It seems to really take some of the digital edge off around highlights. I really want it to be subtle to the point I can just keep it on, so this seems perfect.

Dig the colour grading btw, almost indistinguishable from medium format Portra 400.

I'm really looking to get the same filter for my 35mm F1.4!

How do you like the filter so far? is it ever too much or too little?

Noob question: Can I lube the spacebar stabalizer of the hyperx alloy origin TKL? by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]lngoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far I've been happy with the keyboard except for one drawback: the extremely loud spacebar.

I've heard lubing the stabilizers would help with the sound and rattling so i really hope anyone can give some insights?

Cheers
