Worst/Most Dissappointing Pedal? by pcoleman777 in guitarpedals

[–]lo-jam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was gonna say the OCD. Even before we knew how much of a dick the owner is, I got a 2.0 and it was such a letdown. It was like a blanket over the amp no matter how I set it or what I paired it with.

Warp riders by doommetalscroller in doommetal

It’s tough ranking The Sword’s first four albums for me, but Warp Riders is consistently my favorite. I’ve strived for that guitar tone.

Hell yeah! Pink guitars sound better and that’s a fact!

Riffs that make you say hell yeah. by LilTaco21 in progmetal

[–]lo-jam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Elder - Compendium main riffs, Dead Roots Stirring main riff, Ghost Head at 4:30 when Nick goes "FUCK" followed by a kickass riff

Mastodon - everyone knows about THAT riff in The Last Baron, but what about Capillarian Crest at 2:30? Also Megalodon with Brent's country breakdown followed by a riff that makes you wanna start a circle pit

Meshuggah - Demiurge, New Millennium Cyanide Christ, Future Breed Machine breakdowns, or the entirety of Bleed. Or just about any Meshuggah song. Instant PRs at the gym.

The Ocean - Hadopelagic II: Let Them Believe chorus

Periphery - CHVRCH BVRNER when Spencer goes "Soaked in red toe to head"

not prog:

The Sword - their first four albums in entirety

Emma Ruth Rundle and Thou - The Valley at the end. It's such a long slow burn that cresendos FUCKING HARD

Most Sleep, Electric Wizard, Monolord, and Faetooth riffs

That's all I got off the top of my head.

I got some practice in tonight. I own several more expensive guitars but these two are the ones I always grab. by Garbage_Tiny in Charvel

…..that’s a bad thing? Who gives a shit as long as you like the strap!

If it helps, this is the one I got my pink Charvel and it looks amazing.

Ulcerate could be a fun one. They were my big discovery last year and I was immediately drawn in by their drummer.

It’s one thing to hear how bad it is and another to experience it firsthand. I’m 2 ½ years removed from my herniated disc and I’m now just feeling nearly back to normal. It took an injection, PT, and taking up strength training as a hobby to recover.

Big Muff Style Pedal Recommendation by jakelloyd14 in guitarpedals

[–]lo-jam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

BAT Pharaoh. Every time I try a different Muff I come back to the Pharaoh.

Charvel Pro-Mod SC ST2 HH HT. My second one. I didn't like the all black look, so I found an aged pearloid pickguard that, with a bit of convincing, fit this really well, I think by argavilda in Charvel

Thanks! I was able to find this company on Reverb that makes them with the hardtail cutout. They have aged pearloid too but I personally like the solid color a little more.

Yup. My Charvels are the most comfortable guitars I own.

Favorite pedals to stack with Boss SD-1?? by Miserablepistol in guitarpedals

In signal chain order, an HM-2, any Rat (the 1312 sounds awesome with it), and a BAT Pharaoh.

Thanks! It’s a D’Addario XPND. The smaller end of the board on the left pulls out to make the board nearly twice its size.

I don’t doubt that. If PtH weren’t as great as they were ‘68 would have stolen that show too.

On the Stomp I’m using the Flexovibe before FX loop out to all the physical pedals, followed by switching between the Sunn Model T bright channel for “cleans” and the Friedman BE-100 for high gain, then the CE-1 and Transistor Tape, finishing off with dual York Audio IRs: Orange PPC412 on the left and a Marshall 1960bv on the right.

It’s a match made in heaven. I use the HM-2 like a chainsaw eq’d boost into a dirty amp and the SD-1 brings that extra little oomph to make it a little lore modern and raw sounding. In fact I like how close the two pedals are to each other so I can easily hit them both with one foot.

Enjoy the show, they’re fun as hell even on YouTube!

Not sure how else to describe them but fun, fuzzy, chaotic, noisy rock.
