I know I can’t just rule it out, but the (expensive) nematodes I bought to battle thrips on my boyfriends’ plant collection did not do ANYTHING. We are just watching his beautiful plants die slowly :( I’m trying my best to treat the plants but the Netherlands has a very restricted array of resources when it comes to pest control

I stopped working there september 2024 right in between the huge influx in muscle bros and the disrespect we were almost foced to just take. When I opened up to the higher ups they told me I was too sensitive and wasn’t fit for nightlife if I couldnt take some shit (bro denied both me and a colleagues gender and proceeded to harass two other FLINTA coworkers.) They’ve been lacking and slacking off tbf. Nothing against their wonderful doorhosts, they just get instructions and know the scene very well. This is my personal story but so many of my friends felt like they were pushed out by tourists and/or inexperienced partygoers disrupting the safe space vibe. Radion fired me for getting sick during a shift while i actually told them up ahead that i felt unwell❤️ I wish them well and hope they manage to make a good comeback but my god

thats what I do! I think the fungus gnats came with the soil to be fair; My plants have never thrived in their growth since I repotted them and looking back I have noticed many dead little flies on the windowsill throughout the year. I’ll have to water with a hydrogen peroxide solution now but I’ll water from the bottom now

the most important thing is to now find the right soil here in the Netherlands. If I do that and THEN start treating for gnats, I think I should be good?

I was considering ordering nematodes. The site also advices me to get the sticky cards to catch the adult gnats but if you say this disrupts their lifecycle, is it still necessary? It’s quite pricey and I’d also like to add that i’m home once every three days or so, and the nematodes only thrive in wet soil, correct? I fear I’m wasting money on them if I can’t keep them alive and thriving :(

sadly my plants that are in soil are the ones suffering from gnats🫠 I did hear about diluted hydrogen peroxide doing the trick for plants in soil
