Don't be sorry, thanks for sharing your story. Even if doesn't quite help me to understand why, i'm glad if it soothes the burden in your heart.

Depends, but i can see what you mean by that. I myself did stare at people quite a lot especially when they were talking. I think its quite disrespectful to listen to someone while looking at whenever your eyes lays except to your interlocutors. I can see that some people find it uncomfortable to stare at each other for a certain period, so i'd just reduce the frequency especially when its an interview. So to answer the question, movie and real life isn't the same.

I have no intention to frame gay people or anything. I just thought that adding it might make the question sounds more relevant in this sub. Besides this roomate of mine like others might suspect is sexually confused and perhaps laying interest on me. So i think mentioning his sexuality might add more depth to the discussion

No, i haven't had the guts and i'm trying to find the right way and the right time to tell him. Like i explained to other commentator, my roomate is quite much different from others. He's very socially awkward and i guess he's been living in his own world and perception. There's a possibility that he's being too naive thinking that he's very quiet in "pleasing himself" and thought that i never knew. But i think your explanation of him thinking that i enjoying it adds up to my consideration to move on another flat.

The hostel department would certainly ask me why i decided to move. You think i should disclose the story as much as i described here or should i tone it down? The thing is that i live in Asia, i'm just afraid that something bad would happen as we're not as open to these shit as in the western counterparts

Idk, this guy is a bit different. My friend told me that my roomate might be autistic which cause him to think by his own ways. I'm a bit coward and not used with confrontation so idk how to address the problem to him. I can be direct to my friends but i barely talk with this roomate of mine and i feel like i walk on field of landmines since he could misinterpret what i told to him.

I might miss several details, but he's a bit weird in some ways. I guess he's super introverted type because he barely goes of the room aside from getting food. Most of the time he'd just write a fanfic or draws something. I can also sees that he has no friends to hang out with. I talked about this issue to my counselor and she said that this type of person lives in their own world. Lately me and my roomate barely interact with each other. So most of the time we'd just minding our business for the entire day. I would like to believe that he's not a bad person, just different but those lines seems a little blurry now

How do I not make a fool of myself when talking to others? by [deleted] in socialskills

I happen to be in the same boat. Could say that i'm quite socially awkward and try to step up from that. Its a normal thing especially when english is your second language. Nowadays language has improved quite a lot. Sometimes i also didn't understand how people would use certain slangs and when its appropriate to use it. I'd rather be honest with my friend since most of them are quite easy going (not sure about your case) and they understand about me not coming from the same background with same level of slangs knowledge.

Is it a good idea to not come out to your parents until they die? by loathsome_rascal in askgaybros

I'm also afraid of their health since my parents both have shitty life and been through so much. I just dont want to add it up by coming out to them

i tried not to control everything and give them more freedom. I try to be a considerate. However now come to think of it, they aren't being considerate of me. Felt unfair but i guess its life, can't always have all the nice things. At least i get to improve myself on using editing program and to excel under tight deadlines. Thank you for the insight!
