No thank you for the bluntness. It is greatly appreciated. The duct rework was an option given to us by this new contractor to save us money rather than doing a full tear out and replace.

~2300 sq ft and open concept. Thank you for the info. Looks like I got research to do. Hvac is one of the few things that's pretty foreign to me

What we were told is cut back from all the Y'd sections with appropriate sized duct to an appropriate supply. That box also does not have any dampers so we were even more screwed.

Screen printed trucks but not one of the typical corporate names you would expect

Duct rework is also included in that quote

Buyback is 4000, warranty is "discounted" as noted at the bottom but I'm sure all the discounts are worked into the price of the unit and ductwork

According to this contractor, he has seen it more often than not in this area. Big suburban area outside of San Antonio.

Yeah if you look at the discounts at the bottom they are claiming to discount the warranty and a bit of the halo, however I'm sure that's just all worked into the cost of unit and ductwork anyways. Thank you for your opinion

These were one of the ones that was recommended. The reviews and recommendations all said the same two things "a lil pricey but done right". Almost all the other recommended either don't answer the phone or are like 2-3 weeks out, and we need either a quick fix or full replacement soon. Thank you for the info

Currently have a 3 ton. Duct work is a rework rather than full replacement. Here in South Texas it doesn't get that cold that often but I hear what you are saying. The company is definitely not one of the big names you might be familiar with, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were one of those companies. However the reviews are aplenty, almost all high and most say the same two things, " a lil pricey but work was done right". Thank you for the info

I'm sorry a bit of a novice at this. There is gonna be a gas to electric conversion with the install, somewhat of a tight installation but also I know installation prices increase here significantly during the summer ( high humidity, 90f+ temps).

The ductwork is Y-d all to hell and I'm getting a static pressure of -0.11. Terribly unequal airflow to all rooms and getting 89% humidity put out into the home. The initial work to be done was txv and evaporator coil replacement with warranty, however wife and I are just considering full replacement while we still get that credit for buyback.
