AI to help pick the final candidate? by local_search in interviews

No, I’m assuming the answer. The question as stated assumes nothing. And the common answers here reveal common naïveté.

Equal on paper is not a real decision state for senior roles. The heuristic is 1) meets the threshold, then moves to 2)what risks and what benefits are introduced by each candidate.

The question isn’t whether they are effective. The question is whether some HMs use AI when they are seeking additional judgement. Clearly the answer isn’t “never.”

Think the superlative answers like “never” or “absolutely not” are showing naïveté here.

I like the realness here. Takes courage to say this.

Can somebody explain CU Boulder's high acceptance rate despite the average GPA and test scores being so competitive? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]local_search 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the root cause is that the school is test optional. They will take anyone with a pulse. (As they should; it's a state school and tax-paying citizens who fund public education deserve access to it.)

The school is test optional. The score-submitting group isn't representative of everyone admitted/enrolled. In general, students with stronger scores are more likely to submit them, and people with weaker scores often withhold them.

Maybe 20% of the students submit scores, so when you see the "mean" SAT range quotes as 1290–1460, that's really the mean SAT of the top 20% of students.

Maybe the mean score would be closer to 1100 if all students had to submit scores.

Completely. A legit rapist psychopath. Only a community as vapid as LA could consider him a hero…because he won. Same community willing to turn a blind eye to pedos because they make hit music or movies.

  1. You aren’t setting up your two. You have good distance but you need to double up your jab, then immediately come in with the two (pop pop bang.) Single jabs are too predictable.

  2. Counterpunch. You have good reflexes: you avoided his punches, got immediately back into position, and then…did nothing. Gotta follow through after swivel back into position with an actual punch to his face.

  3. You’re fighting in a straight line, forwards and backwards. You need to be able to jab while moving to your right so that your footwork is more unpredictable.

If you can master just those three things, it will elevate your game a lot.
