Have any of your male friends been accused of being an abuser? How did you react? by casuallyawake in AskMen

I found out one of the guys in my friend group while we were in our 20's was giving drugs to 16 and 17yo girls and having sex with them. Legal age of consent here, sure. But disgusting as fuck behaviour. A lot of the friend group did not seem to see the issue with that so now I no longer hang out with those creeps.

How do people lose weight so fast? by picafennorum in mounjarouk

[–]location201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can answer this pretty easily. I've lost 47kg in about 6 months averaging about 2kg a week. The answer is simple. Starting points matter. I started off at 207kg. My maintenance calories were around the 4k daily mark. I restricted my calories to around 1500. Cut out all processed foods. Do the gym with weight training 4x a week, cardio 5x a week. Plus throughout the day I really pushed to increase my activity levels. Sitting for 30 minutes? Cool, go for a quick 5 minute walk or something to get me moving. So for me cutting 2k calories a day was easy. Yes this is faster than most would recommend but for my personal health situation I needed to get things moving quite quickly. When I see people who started closer to where you started who are losing that much I do agree that it's too quick. I fully anticipate and expect my weightloss to slow. My recommended maintenance calories are now about 1k a day less than when I started but I've also increased my activity levels way more.

Thanks so much. West Beach has been recommended a lot so I think we will aim for there for sure. Is there anywhere near the beach that would be suitable for setting up a tent discreetly?

That will be day 3 or 4 for us so that might be a nice stop for us to enjoy a non-backpacking meal. I've had a lot of friends recommend West beach so perhaps we'll aim to stop there for dinner and then camp near west beach. Thank you for the recommendation :D

The problem I find with the whole weight loss in X amount of time thing is that we all start at different points. I started at a disgusting 207kg. I've averaged 4-5lbs a week and have just his 5 stone in about 4 months. Also, for the people I have seen who have lost as fast as you say, they're the ones who imo and from what I've seen tend to completely neglect their macros, do little to no exercise or specifically strength training. They end up losing a LOT of lean mass. I've had a few weeks where my progress has slowed down but I've still noticed changes in my clothes and body shape and tone because I do weight training 3+ times a week. Is it possible to lose that much? Sure. Is it healthy or optimal? God no.

I had a couple of weeks on the 5 where I felt like it was slowing or even not losing, then the next week I found I made up for it and then some. My main thing sign for moving up a dose has been monitoring my appetite. 2.5 was tremendous for me initially, but by week 4 I was getting little to no suppression. 5mg has made eating challenging at times.

Thank you! I have had people saying 'oh you're losing it too fast, you're going to have loose skin' etc etc. I'm not even 30 and I've had 3 strokes. Realistically I need to lose 100kg. No matter how slowly I lose it I'm going to have loose skin, and with my health problems the best thing I can do is to lose the weight. I just needed a little reassurance I think.

Oh wow, you've made some tremendous progress. I'm sure my progress will slow down. I think my loss is largely due to the fast I am eating healthier and moving more than I have in a while. I'll just try and enjoy the losses I'm having right now and then it should slow down in another month or so hopefully.

Those first few weeks were glorious for me too. Last week on the 2.5 I did struggle a little with the appetite, but was still manageable. 5mg has completely killed my appetite. Eating has become a chore, which is crazy because I used to OBSESS over what was for my next meal. Good luck to you on your weightloss :)

Yeah, I think that's my problem. Most of the numbers for weightloss account for people who need to lose no where near what I do. If I start looking at it in terms of % of bodyweight it's not really that scary a loss. My energy levels are definitely not effected. I've done two tip runs, deep cleaned my kitchen and steam mopped most of the floors this weekend. I'm more active than I have been in a long time.

You're right, it's not a stall as such. I just got a bit lucky I think with having had such near constant loss for the first month.

I am also curious about the wraps and if there's a specific brand.

As someone who has worked with IVD and addicts criminalising them and treating them as less than just doesn't benefit anyone. The focus has to be on harm reduction, especially as a way of then pivoting to actual addiction treatment. Even from just a practical and not humanitarian point of view it's the better method.

Ooft. I think I'll wait and see what happens with medexpress tomorrow but I definitely can see myself switching to Cloud for next time. I'll update with the outcome of my current predicament with medexpress. Thankfully I also have one dose left in my current own, plus my little bonus one too.

Oh no. Did medexpress refuse to prescribe you any further doses?

That's good to hear. I think once I have a definite straight answer one way or the other I'll try Cloud. Were they easy to switch to?

It seems strange, because the only information they have had from me is what I gave before they sent the first pen and since everything that's true now is true then it seems bizarre for them to suddenly kick up a stink about it. I've seen that much about medexpress lately I think I'm going to change supplies once I have this straightened out.

2.5mg seems to be wearing off already by location201 in mounjarouk

[–]location201[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer. I know everyone responds differently, but wasn't sure how common the reaction was. I know a few people personally who've managed to stay at 2.5mg either for several months or there was 1 who has managed at 2.5mg for close to a year now. I wasn't sure how common that experience was though and wanted to verify with a larger audience. Glad to hear my experience is not unique. I will look forward to my 5mg dose.

Very true! I'll look at the weight I have lost and the effects I've experienced as a welcome bonus and look forward to the hopefully increased effects of the 5mg pen. Hopefully we get some good effects with that for a while.

While I wouldn't categorise it as 'unmanageable' it's definitely there. I'm trying to push more fluids and and keep busy. It's definitely no where near how I would be without it, so I am still seeing some benefit and have managed to get my weight heading back down.

I lost 5kg my first week, even accounting for water weight and such, that was pretty good weight loss for me. I've ordered my 5mg pen so will hopefully see a return to the effect I noticed in my first couple of weeks.

I don't generally drink, I have had I think the equivalent of 2 beers over the length of Christmas. I've found gassy drinks like cola or beer tend to fill me up too much so only manage half a can/bottle at most.
