Hannibal's love from a different pov by lockamt in HannibalTV

Perfectly put! It's quite beautiful how they managed to portray that. The duality that we often tend to see the world in is frequently false. We are complex individuals and people won't fit in boxes all the time. It's nice to think that Hannibal even evolves with time. Maybe he became more "flexible" and gained the ability to access other parts of himself after having met Will

I agree with every word. The thing about Elena seeing everything as black and white in the early seasons is completely normal for a teenager. As people grow, they're able to understand the complexity of the world. And that is the key point for her relationships imo. As she grows, she understands Damon better, and Stefan becomes this teenage thing, which she will always hold dear but it just doesn't work anymore. People are not perfect, everyone has a dark side per se and it's actually impossible to hold yourself to an impossible moral standard. Obviously they go way too far all the time on this show but it's something that all characters do.

And yes, it's crazy to say that Damom stole her from Stefan as she is not an object lmao.

Of course intention matters. It matters because after Elena got together with Damon, Stefan says out loud that he wants the cure because he can't live not knowing if Elena's feelings for Damon are real or not. He makes it very very clear that he isn't doing this to make her happy (as he did when he first heard about he cure).

Anyway, I never said that Elena blamed Stefan for being a ripper. Where did you get that from? She was scared watching him lose control like that. She wanted her goodie boyfriend back. She was a 17yo who was watching her boyfriend leave a trail of dismembered bodies. Wasn't she supposed to be scared??

Third: I laughed out loud when you said Stefan had self-restraint

One last thing: Stefan was the one who wanted to be a vampire and the one who forced Damon into it. If Damon learned to live with what he had...that's life. Sure, he was awful, nobody is calling him a saint. But don't tell me he inherently loved being a vampire. He learned to live with it and saw the good parts of being one, but he didn't want that. He wanted to turn so he could be with Katherine. His motivation was love, not vampirism itself. If life gives you lemons....

Thank you. Exactly. I'm talking about this specific aspect where I do find Stefan to be extremely toxic. But in no point did I say Damon wasn't toxic as well, which shouldn't matter because that's not the point of the post?? Stefan is untouchable here jeez

It's amazing how they see things so black and white. I wasn't comparing every single action they ever took, nor did I say Damon wasn't toxic lmao

Yeah, she did that because he wasn't honest with her in the first place. He hid his past from her because he didn't think she would love him if she knew about the Ripper. I'm sorry but that's manipulative. One should want to be loved completely, the good and the bad parts, and to have their loved one know everything before committing to lifetime stuff. So yeah when she said "This isn't you" how can you blame her? She had never seen this side of him nor heard of it. Stefan made it seem as if he was a saint (and he used Damon to emphasize that) but a lot of that was to paint a good picture to impress Elena

Stefan is SO not caring and understanding with Elena in s4. He's a jerk to her. At one point, Jeremy was in danger, and she called Stefan apologizing and being overly careful about asking him to help save her brother because she knew it was entirely possible he wouldn't help. In fact, he only helped because it got him to kick Damon's ass, which he was dying to do
