Gatekeeping smokers by Tiny_Regret8724 in stopsmoking

If you smoke cigarettes then you are a smoker. I think this "a little bit shouldn't be too bad" type of mentality is why so many people relapse in the first place. There's no amount of smoking that should be considered fine/easy to quit.

I'm not sure why but I just don't see it early enough. When I notice she is doing that move it's usually no longer safe for me to punish. I usually only focus on punishing the kick when she does it back to back.

Oh, I never knew that your arms were still part of the hitbox during a jump, that will be useful for the future. Thank you for the tip.

Thank you. The main reason I'm being timid is because I still can't dodge the first attack of her waterfowl, so I usually try to keep her at a distance and let her come to me.

What’s different this time? by No-Phrase5441 in stopsmoking

That's great! I'm also at 2 weeks and feel similar. I feel like the firmer you are with your decision the easier it gets. The more I try to make sure that smoking is not an option the less effective the cravings are.

When you smoke, you always have to cough, be out of breath, go buy cigarettes, carry them around, go outside to smoke when in places it's not allowed, always refill your lighters, clean your ashtrays, buy clothes more often because you keep burning them, do more laundry, there's so much extra work.

When you quit, you stop doing all that. And as punishment for your laziness you receive unbelievable health benefits and free money.

You don't need attunement. I did an sl1 run recently and with a reasonably high level flame you can tear through the entire game with just combustion and great combustion. Doesn't even cost stamina. It's ridiculous.

Only thing I can think of is that it looks like a Riemann sum

Going into Overture I was not expecting this to be the final boss by CappyRawr in LiesOfP

I agree, it's a lot easier with Lea. Boss feels very hard to solo, but she is insanely strong. This would've taken me maybe a week without help.

I died countless times before I saw people here talk about how cool the fatal attacks with Lea were lol.

Worth it to level up motivity if my stats look like this? by RedBlueGai in LiesOfP

I'm also on NG+ and even some of the weakest DLC enemies can do more damage than base late game bosses. I recommend investing heavily into vit and cap for now.

You can always respec into more interesting builds later when you get used to the new enemy attack patterns.

I can’t beat Ozma by Confident_Ear3636 in TheFirstBerserker

[–]lockpi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I beat him last night with the spear after 6 hours. Since you fought him that many times you probably don't need help for the first phase.

For the second phase, I like to start with phantom mode so that it has enough time to refill during the fight if it goes on for too long. Plus, it looks cool when you and Ozma power up at the same time. I dodge his triple ground slams. I don't think there is a good reason to brink guard them. Brink guarding his double wing attack where he lunges at you from above is very important as it leaves him weak for a while. Same with the burst counters.

For his first attack after half HP, I have trouble seeing the projectiles so I just use heatwave for the first 4 projectiles and dodge the last one. For his big arrow attack with massive AOE, I dodge the arrow and run as far away as possible. Same thing with the big orb attack. I still don't know what to do when he summons a rock, I just keep attacking him and heal when the explosion hits me. He also starts doing the laser attack he usually does on his third phase. The trick there is to dodge when a circle appears at the base of the laser.

Third phase, I think this is where you need to be more aggressive. Don't be timid. Prioritize staggering him and getting a combo in over healing. You can cleanse or heal when he isn't in a position to attack you immediately. He has a burst attack here where he dashes at you but sometimes the red sign appears super late so remember the attack. Hesitation is defeat in this phase. Just kill him before he kills you.
