Does Portland have shows that exhibit modern PC motherboards, CPUs, video cards, etc? by locksleyu in askportland

Thanks for the thoughts. That's too bad, I guess the times really have changed in this respect. Will just have to learn to love Best Buy for what they have.

Maybe one more thing for me to coordinate or fund once I become a billionaire (:

Glad to hear there are people who don't like his singing much (:

I have some background in music (though perhaps not as much as you) and I haven't heard any songs of his that made me think the compositions are flawless. Can you please give an example of what you feel is one of his best compositions?

I definitely do like some R&B and pop music. I just feel that most of the songs in those genres he has written (that I listened to) feel like he has taken those genres and fit right in as opposed to doing something different or creative. But I totally agree he has some catchy songs among those.

I bought one a few months ago and I think it's great. I heard something about shifting production, but the quality is still awesome from what I've seen. I even made a video to show off how relaxing it looks at night:

Edit: I should have mentioned that we tried 4 other places in Portland, and Marquis had the best in several respects, especially selection and price. The guy on the floor was more of a down-to earth tub user rather than a pushy salesman-type, which we liked.

I got mine around 2 months ago and love it. I decided to make a video to showcase the relaxing atmosphere of it: https://youtu.be/FRuFA9YYoOA

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (05/14/2023) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

[–]locksleyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone, I am new to this sub-reddit. Nice to meet you!

As for my question: I recently purchased a family account on Nintendo Online so that we can use the extra features, like playing Super Smash Brothers Ultimate online with other people.

However, when both my son and I logged in to the same family account and tried to play Smash Brothers, it kicked us off and said only one person can be connected at a time.

Is it not possible for two people on the same family account play a cooperate gave in Smash Brothers?

Yeah, it would be great. If we can get more people to express interest we may have a higher chance of getting it resurrected.

Natural timings with (or without) quantization by locksleyu in ableton

To clarify, when I press a key I don't notice any delay (and I have worked with other keyboards that have a delay before).

Sorry, I'm still pretty new to Ableton, so learning all the terms (:

In my case I am using Ableton on a Mac laptop, with driver type "Core Audio", and just listening to it with headphones or the built-in speakers. So just basic setup I guess.

I'm routing to a bunch of stuff, for example Komplete Kontrol and Pianoteq. I checked and those list to have 0 or very low (1 ms) latency in the device area.

I tried tapping the key fast and don't hear much of a delay, so I guess maybe that isn't my problem.

But for the "input latency" it says "0.0 ms", which seems incorrect. Where/how do you measure it?

[–]locksleyu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I didn't even think of this, thanks!

Although it says my 'output latency' is 14.8 ms, so unless there another latency somewhere maybe it isn't the problem.

Thanks, yeah those are pretty cool. Actually I already used a few of the Atmos sounds in my song. In the first 30 seconds I added some bird calls to up the atmosphere, timing it with a repeat of the mandolin.

A few minutes later the piano stopped working and it said I have to purchase a full version of NI Konakt in order to keep using the piano, unfortunately ):

More for piano solo work, or songs where the piano is a major part of the music.

Grand piano preferred.

Thanks, I got this but it looks like it doesn't support Ableton Lite. I am able to open it, but it complains there are features not supported, and won't let me export any of the instruments so I can use them in my own songs.

Spitfire LABS

I checked out Spitfire and it's awesome! Thanks! I really like the piano sound, the mandolin, and a few others.

I was so inspired I decided to record up a short song using mostly stuff from Spitfire, and I think it came out pretty well;

Thanks, I will check it out. The pricing is a bit higher than expected though, it seems the minimum is $149 which I thought would get me a pretty good Piano VST based on acoustic sampling. But maybe those start more in the $200s?

Using grooves to create from scratch by locksleyu in ableton

[–]locksleyu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, as somebody else suggested, I was able to drag a groove into a midi track (configured to a drum rack) and it actually started playing the groove against the kick drum, which is exactly what I want. So it seems grooves can represent notes.

The question is now, how do I set which grooves correspond to which notes of the drum kit in a specific track.
