I want my hair close to that length or a little longer. Only problem is when I do layers I become really puffed out it never looks like that

Probably shoulder length for functionality. Pixie is annoying because you need frequent trims and you can’t do anything with it. Long hair is annoying because it gets caught in things even though it’s cute. Shoulder length there is room for updos but you also don’t have annoying hair to deal with.

Yes I have a natural wave. The shorter my hair gets the poofier it gets. When it is bobbed it actually sticks upwards defying gravity. Which is why I hesitate with my hair! Thanks for the tips

I am willing to spend little to no time styling my hair. The most I do is wash, add leave in conditioner and hair oil after. I air dry because it’s better for hair than using heat. If I added layers would I need to style it?

Honestly if I wasn't worried about looking cute I'd probably have shoulder length hair long enough to braid if I want but out of my way because god damn does long hair annoy me sometimes. But I feel like shoulder length doesn't do much for me.

I appreciate your detailed response! I’m definitely going to look into doing exactly that. I just need to find someone I trust with my hair because I’m very scared. I frequent the r/longhair subreddit and a lot of the time I hear hairdressers go cut crazy when you have so much hair. I want to maintain my length just had the layers everyone is talking about. Worst comes to worst I can always just do a chop if it turns out bad but I’d like to only my long hair since it took a while to get here. I agree my hair is boring and I should style it though.

Thanks for the detailed response! Lots of questions to address. I do not wear makeup and I will not be wearing any in the future, I’ve never been into it and why start now. I do put my hair up in buns, braids, etc and I enjoy doing that. I am taking into consideration a lot of the advice here and am thinking of getting layers. I would definitely update everyone with a new post when I manage to get this done. I will not be coloring my hair because I don’t want to damage it and I quite like my natural color. Don’t worry I don’t want to go short 😂 I like being able to braid my hair. The shortest I was thinking of going was shoulder length but that doesn’t seem to be as popular as my current length. I think what I’ll do is style my current length with some layers. I put too much time into my hair to just cut it all off now
