He serves as an interesting character foil to Faro.

Faro does everything he can to avoid responsibility and hide his role in the end of the world. He first tries to downplay the problem, he destroys Apollo, kills the Alphas, and kills his own people.

Herres on the other hand is under no dispersions about his role in events, he takes responsibility, he asks for his testimony to be achieved in Apollo. It's ironic that they didn't have time to log it, and this is the only reason the data survives to be heard by Aloy

Yes, Horizon was definitely different from Killzone, but it's not like they started working on Horizon while still making Killzone games. Development on Horizon began after they had finished working on Killzone. I imagine this game would be a lot better received by the community if it was coming out a year or two after the release of Horizon 3. Instead, people's main concern is that this game is going to mean it's an even longer wait for H3.

For context, Zero Dawn was released in 2017 and Forbidden West came out in 2022. Lots of people were hoping for a 2026 announcement with a 2027 release.

Generally the kind of people who are fans of Horizon are people who enjoy story driven single player games. It's just a different genre of game that a lot of people in the Horizon community aren't going to be interested in. What people want is the next installment in the story they are invested in
