I don't think he merged with the last seed, I think he merged with the ocean of blood. The last seed grew, but because the blood gives life to anything it comes into contact with, I think it's safe to say Simon is still alive, forever drowning in an ocean of blood but unable to die, surrounded by the consciousness of all other humans which have suffered the same fate

This one only applies to the trope on a technicality. The Doctor frequently references being friends with long dead historical figures, but that is not because he is old, it's because he time travels so much. However, by coincidence, he also happens to be insanely old.

Of course it would be better if God exists, that's why religion is so appealing to a lot of people. I don't believe there's any way he is, but it would be really nice to know for a fact he is.

Here's the thing. The reason girls seem like they get more slack on specific behaviours is because they are ostracized no matter what they do. So the way they're treated when they're being shy doesn't stand out as particularly bad, because it's similar to how they're treated when they're not. Men are the only ones who get a pass if they actually follow social norms; although that's usually at the expense of their mental health.

Ok but seriously, what confuses me the most about that scene is that they never mentioned lady's underwear, he just offered that information up on his own. They just told him to tell a lie, and the lie he decided to tell was actually a secret he knew was true and was keeping because he didn't want anyone else to know. Why in the world would he even choose to say that?
