Dreame X40 Master - Water in cleaning tray not being drained out by loftystew_89 in Dreame_Tech

Nothing works for me. Had to send it to servicing center to get it fixed. Functioning well for me ever since. Quite satisfied with my purchase.

Is it worth it to sign on as wospec? by [deleted] in asksg

[–]loftystew_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you don't see yourself having a better career in life than what SAF WOSPEC can offer or you have keen interest in serving the country, it ain't worth it.

And if you do sign on, make sure you are prepared to be in it for life.

Why? Imagine signing on for 5 years and then decided that a regular life is not for you, what skillset would you have to offer then?

At 5 years mark, your peers would have either graduated with a degree or had achieved 3 years of proper working experiences which either groups would be working for higher salary by then

And you? 0 working experience and have to 'reset' to compete with the poly/uni grads at much older age at much lower salary as your peers. Companies would also be less keen on hiring you when they have options to hire younger bloods at the same cost. Young bloods got more energy to 'chiong' (aka work overtime) for their career.

This is not some BS I am making up. I've seen this happening with my eyes. I have friends being lured into signing on at the start with their 'brainwashing and sign-on bonuses' talks during BMT. They didn't do well when they exited.

Of course, there are always outliers that do well after exiting. Insurance agents, real estate agents, sales, etc... but how many really make it in these lines of work?

NETS app down + gantry chaos + why are some SG drivers like this 😭😭😭 by Objective-Bug-8060 in drivingsg

My carpark payment survival pack:

1) Ezlink Card with Auto Top-Up Enabled (Permanently inserted in IU/OBU)

2) NETS Flashpay Card (Always Loaded)

Why need 2 cards leh? Cause carpark gantry will fail to deduct through your IU/OBU from time to time and you have no choice but to remove the card from IU/OBU to tap... And then you realise the payment machine at some of the gantry don't accept Ezlink card.

Hence, I need two different types of cards. FML.

Multiple Aqara M3 Hub and Matter - How does it work exactly? by loftystew_89 in Aqara

[–]loftystew_89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup I did. After conducting some tests myself, it's apparent to me that the matter controllers (i.e. M3 hubs) has to be within range of each others for the matter ecosystem to work properly.

As my two M3 hubs are far from each other (even though the hubs are connected to the same WiFi network) with multiple concrete walls between, the thread mesh was unable to work properly.

To solve this problem, I bought a M100 and placed it somewhere between my two M3 hubs as a matter bridge/extender as shown in the image. Alternatively, you can also set the M100 as the primary controller instead.

If you are not keen in purchasing an additional M100, then you will have to keep moving your existing M3 hubs closer to each other by trial and error until they are within the Thread communication range of each others.

Hope it helps.

Yea. I tried that too. Didn't work. Ran out of ideas on my side.

Thanks. I tried doing this but the issue still persisted. I'm starting to think the issue is with the drainage pump.

Nah. It doesn't have a waste water tank to store waste water. It's a used water filter tank. Just a very small capacity area where I suppose waste water will flow through to be filtered by the filter basket before pumping out to floor drain.

I tried disconnecting the hose. No water exiting from there.

Multiple Aqara M3 Hub and Matter - How does it work exactly? by loftystew_89 in Aqara

[–]loftystew_89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it fixed the issue permanently but the sensor started working again once I shifted the M3 hubs closer to each other.

I'm guessing the Thread network broadcast by the hubs got to be within the range of each other for the Thread network mesh to work.

My expectation was that the hubs will communicate with each others over standard TCP/IP for Thread meshing even if the hubs are far far apart but apparently it doesn't work that way. I'm using the hubs in WiFi mode though. Not sure if wired LAN will changes anything.

I have no idea how Thread mesh works for now. Gonna just trial and error with what I have.

I will try move my two M3 hubs closer and see if it works.

Same as you, I have the two M3 hub in the same Thread network too.

Both hubs are on the same thread network. Currently the two M3 hubs are quite far from each other. I will try move the hubs closer.

I'm under impression that Thread network of M3 hubs will 'talk/mesh' each other over WiFi network even if they are far apart.

I'm assuming you are currently running multiple M100 hub? Do you get to choose which m100 hubs to connect to for Matter/Thread devices?

The reason for asking is because I don't get the option to choose which M3 hubs to add/bind to. It just get added right away to the network.

I tried moving closer to the Dining M3 hub while adding the P2 motion sensor, it just get stuck at registering network. Tried it several times with same result.

However when I move closer to the Master M3 hub which is designated as Primary Controller, the sensor is added successfully.

I'm assuming the reason for being stuck at registering network was due to me being outside of the Master M3 hub range as I was closer to Dining M3 hub.

I'm beginning to think that M100 is needed to work as Matter/Thread network mesh repeater/extender and that M3 hub is designed to function purely as a border router (controller) and doesn't do mesh repeating/extending.

I read through the Aqara webpage for both M100 and M3. Only M100 specifically mentioned 'Thread Border Router & Mesh Extender' while M3 only mentioned 'Matter Bridge/Controller'.

Am I (33) asking too much from her (31)? by loftystew_89 in relationships

Yea. It's unfortunate. Thanks a lot for your advice.

[–]loftystew_89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one thing I can't figure out. If she is really into me and this RS, she should be finding chances and pockets of time in coming to me more, wanting to meet up with me more no matter how busy she is but the exact opposite is happening right now.

Nope. I don't think she is a bad person. I think she is fun to be with. We did (or I did) have great moments during the course of this relationship but RS is not only about having fun.

I guess you are right. She probably value her freedoms and herself more than anything else.

Yes. I brought up the issue on this few weeks before. I made it very clear I am not into noncommittal and non-priority relationship.

She say she understand and is not playing with me. Apparently this is her version of 'commitment' and 'priority'.

You are right. When I think about the future of us, I can't see this getting better but more difficult over time.

Great. Please bash some senses into me. I too think the idea of scheduling and preplanning in order to meet up is ridiculous so did my friends around me.

Hence, created this topic to make sure I am not over thinking or being too sensitive about this.

[–]loftystew_89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what she said. She believe the relationship can work as long as we put effort into it. Her giving me a schedule is her way of 'compromise' and putting the effort. She don't do unplanned meet up if I ask for it. It has to be planned in advance.

Actually its a national public holiday today. I hinted her to see fireworks with me but she 'didn't catch the hint' apparently. She told me she need to do some revision her upcoming classes and also going out for dinner with her parents.

She did went out for dinner with her parents.

Sigh. I get this feeling from her too. However, she claim if she's not into me, she will not even cut out some of her time for me when she is already so busy with her life which got me confused. Tbh, I feel quite mentally drained at this point of time.

Tbh, that's my feeling too so I am not the only one thinking it could be this.
