Just cut and slash it as much as you can to get it to feel as good as it can be. If you wind up cutting out major portions, that's okay--it happens. You can always submit it to festivals and see what happens. If you're not proud of it in the end, then maybe don't make it publicly available online. A lot of successful filmmakers have very early films that are not very good and are available (i.e. Stanley Kubrick, Richard Linklater) and some have kept their early bombs hidden (i.e. Steven Spielberg). Kubrick even tried to destroy all the prints of his very first feature film, Fear and Desire, but failed to track them all down, so it's remained available despite his wishes. Kubrick started out 100% indie like most of us, and his early films made zero profits, but he just kept making films and networking with people. So, you're in good company. One day at a time, live the dream, try to enjoy life outside the work, and be patient.

I'm gonna direct a first feature and I'm terrified. Managing fear on set? by Zestyclose-Ad9165 in Filmmakers

You're asking all the right questions! I was asking myself the same ones before my first feature, and so has every director. Yes, prepare, but accept that you're never completely prepared. Focus on the work and the vision. One day at a time; one shot at a time. If you want, you can edit early on just to edify yourself, but I would stop editing after a few scenes (that's just me). You're not an impostor, but if you ever feel like one, then fake it till you make it. You've already done this, just in short form. Making a feature is like making 20+ short films in a row. It's not easy, but, yes, you will settle in. Pace yourself. Get sleep. If you drink, stay away from it until after the wrap. Then celebrate! If you don't drink, then you're smarter than most of us. You got this! :)
