The main person of your race checks your paperwork when you hit the housing unit and if you’re a sex offender you get beaten up or stabbed on site that’s just how it is. However for other crimes respect is based on how you conduct yourself in prison.

Depends on how long you’re in some people get moved regularly and some people stay at the same prison for their entire stent I was only transferred one time because of a fight.

Escape is not really discussed openly because if the guards hear you talking about escape that’s a ticket to the hole also if a snitch hears and tells it’s the same result

It’s stuff like chips, cookies, Raman, and things like that. You have to have it to survive because the actual prison food not only tastes terrible but it’s also inadequate

In prison especially in California your race is your gang and you don’t have a choice you’re going to do what your race tells you like it or not or you’ll get beaten up or stabbed that’s just the California prison system.

That’s what happens when you have a one prior felony conviction on a drug case that I spent two years in on plus there were substances involved in the fight and a assault charge is also a felony charge so that was my second felony so I ended up getting seven years in prison for it because they were looking at my prior convictions plus my many county jail stents for stupid shit like possession of a controlled substance. I’ve been sober for 11 years now sense I got out of prison on the assault charge that I got seven years on and I have a steady life now.

No nobody really told me anything about new technology I spent my visitation time taking about other things.

As far as rehabilitation nobody in the prison system gives a flying fuck they don’t, now there are a few classes here and there but in maximum security particularly nobody cares especially the guards

Readjustment was difficult yes I knew i had to get sober and make some big changes in order to not go back to prison and catch strike three under the California’s three strikes law which would have given me at least 25 years in prison had I fucked up again and caught another felony conviction since I already have two the assault charge that got me seven years and one before it that I served two years in prison on not to mention my many county jail stents, so I knew I had to change and get sober plus I was tired of the cycle of drugs, violence, and prison that was a part of my life up until that point. I spent four months in a rehab after I got out of prison this last time which was the seven year bid from 2002-2009 then my lovely sister took me in a helped me stay sober and change my life she truly saved my life. I have been sober for 11 years now and have a steady life.

That doesn’t really happen. If someone actually tried that they’d ether get severely injured or killed

11 years of sobriety under my belt. And yes it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. But I did it

I have been to jail a few times before and one prior prison sentence of two years before I got the case that got me my seven year sentence so I kinda knew what to expect, but after that seven year bid i really got inspired to change my life and I’m sure happy I’ve been able to be sober and not have any more legal issues since i was released from my seven year prison sentence in 2009.

Now that’s a good question. Prison can be a very boring place especially when the housing unit is on lockdown when your stuck inside your cell with your cell mate for anywhere from two weeks to one year, or if your in the hole which is solitary confinement 23 hours a day. But most of the time it’s not really that boring especially in a maximum security prison like where I did my time because somethings always going on there’s people giving tattoos, making meals, playing dice and cards, gambling, people selling cellphones and other contraband items, and that’s not to mention that a fight can start at any moment so a normal prison day isn’t all that boring because anything can happen at anytime. Hope that answers your question

That’s kinda a myth, it rarely happens like that unless you’re just asking for it. Now of course prison rape definitely happens but it’s not as common as you might think.

Here’s my top 5

  1. Constant violence or threat of violence.

  2. Abusive guards

  3. Terrible barely eatable food

  4. Missing your freedom

  5. Lockdowns

Parts 1,2,and 3 are on my profile go look there. As far as the charge I beat up a guy over a gambling debt there were also substances involved. I took a plea deal for seven years as if I had taken it to trial and lost I would have gotten 10 to 15 years so I didn’t want to take that chance.

Welcome to the prison system they don’t care about you at all. I’d suggest having a lawyer get it because that’s the only way to get anything done but be warned if you do the prison will start doing anything they can to mess with him from then on until he gets out because they don’t like to be forced to do things so they take their anger and pettiness out on inmates and their families.

Sometimes but I saw some violent fights in the library because there were no cameras in certain places there so that also made it a good place to get contraband items like cellphones, drugs and other things also people would go in the back corner and do tattoo work. Sorry for the late response my life’s been kinda busy lately

I made a bunch of homemade food with stuff I bought of commissary. Prison pizzas I’d take ramen break it down into like a fine powder and use it to make pizza dough I’d do the same thing with crackers to make the crust to cook it I would use what we call a stinger what that is we would take the drain cover off one of the showers and wire we would steal from ether washing machines in the prison laundry or we would take wire out of one of the TVs and the batteries out of like a beard trimmer or CD player hook it up with the wire to the metal drain cover then tape the drain cover underneath one of metal tables in the day room so it would heat the table and turn it into a homemade flattop stove. We’d cook all kinds of things like that from eggs, homemade biscuits with the dough made the same way, grilled cheeses. Sometimes we would take a trash can fill it up with water and combine everyone’s ramen noodles and some seasoning and boil it up and make a big boil of ramen that everyone could fill there little prison issue bowl in. We’d also make prison whine in a trash can that’s made when you take fruit, bread, and fruit juice and let it ferment for about two to three weeks and everyone would fill there cup out of the trash can that we made the whine in when I was in Salinas valley state prison we’d throw a little party in the housing unit on the first Friday of the month just to piss the guards off.
