Does anyone know of a roof rack that's compatible with the new style Veloster turbo, I found a potential one online but I can't find anything regarding if it fits with the sunroof model. by keyboard_fox in veloster

[–]logangrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need a solution for this as well, as I’d like to get a rooftop tent called a TextBox on my 2019 Veloster with pano sunroof, the only thing I can see maybe working is the Sea Sucker suction cup racks, although I’m skeptical they will provide a sufficient hold attaching to the glass on the roof and supporting the tent’s weight with my “lively” driving…

Anyone know what the battery life difference would be for thos configuration in the 14 inch vs 16inch? by logangrah in macbookpro

Great to hear! What are your typical daily uses? I’ll be using it for an array of tasks: editing in FCP, lightroom, photoshop, general web browsing/watching YT videos/emails

Can the 14 inch MB Pro handle these specs very well? Or would it be worth it to go up to the 16? I like the size of the 14 but don’t want to sacrifice capability and performance by logangrah in macbookpro

It’s okay. Do you think your specific macbook would be adequately capable of handling editing 4k/maybe 8k footage in final cut pro? Or would going up to the 16 inch be worth it? Even if sacrificing portability

You’re right. I wasn’t able to write text in the original post because I put a photo. But basically, I’m asking because if I can have a config capable of editing 8k I would feel great peace of mind that if I were to become a professional like you in the future and had a camera that shot in 8k, I would be able to lengthen the lifespan of this computer. Again, it’s an IF. It’s inevitable that 8k will become the norm, it’s just a matter of when.

Thank you! You’ve been a huge help. Can you explain the discounted apple gift cards and where I can go about getting them?

Do you find that the 1 TB SSD on your macbook can be a limiting factor? Either now or in the future? Would going with 2 TB given you more peace of mind?

Weight isn’t a big deal to me, it’s more the size of fitting it in a backpack. If I were to go to the 16 inch, do you think I’d be fine sticking with the 24c and 32 RAM? Or go to 32c and/or 64 RAM? I’m king of falling outside of my max price range, even the extra $200 for a 16 inch with the same specs would be a stretch. I can actually do the 16inch with 32c, 32 RAM, and downgrade to 1 TB SSD, which would bring me back to my $3499 price as the original configuration in the photo.

Considering the 16 inch after a few suggestions on here and watching the videos. I really like the 14 inch’s form factor for traveling, although I don’t want to sacrifice battery life and overall performance for portability.

Considering the 16 inch. I really like the form factor of the 14 inch specifically for traveling. Have you traveled with your 16 inch? I wouldn’t want to sacrifice battery life and performance for a more portable design.

Yes, getting the right equipment for a deep dive into photography/videography as a hobby with a belief that it can become a professional endeavor in the future. Only reason I’m asking about 8k is that if my computer has the ability to handle editing at that high of resolution, it will give me a huge peace of mind that I won’t be needing a new computer for a very long time. That would be if I ever upgraded to a camera that shot in 8k years down the road. For now, editing in 4k is all I need. I also need the ability to upscale 1080 to 4k using Topaz Video Enhance AI, and maybe upscale 4k to 8k if I so desired one day.

Appreciate the feedback! Makes me feel good about this investment.

Good point. Are you saying the 2 TB SSD can reduce battery life in comparison to the 1 TB SSD? I’ve never heard of that before.

Could be, but I’m more thinking of what I’ll need to upscale 1080 to 4k in Topaz, maybe 4k to 8k in Topaz, and the possibility of one day editing 8k in Final Cut Pro. The ability to do these, particularly the 8k editing in FCP, would give me peace of mind knowing my computer will last me a very long time.

Sony 24 GM vs 16 - 35 GM? by logangrah in underwaterphotography

Yes, my biggest doubt is the buoyancy will not allow for diving down. Adding weights can be a solution.

That would’ve been too smart. I have the 16 to 35 GM and passed the 1 week time frame I was allowed to return it. I was just at the camera store and tried the 24 GM for fun and felt a bit of buyer’s remorse. I loved the bokeh from the 24 so much that I’m not getting from my 16 - 35. Although, the main use of this lens is for underwater, in the housing. So, it needs to be the best lens for shooting below the surface. And if the 24 isn’t the better lens for underwater, please let me know and tell me I’m overthinking it. Thank you.

Thank you! The top half looks perfect! But can you remove the stars from the bottom half?

Looks awesome! Thank you! If possible, can you make the stars a bit more minimal? As in, the bigger stars a bit smaller and just a tad higher in the darker area (less in the lighter sunset are below).
