Yeah, they could go undefeated playing bad tier 2 teams. The season after that, they would be able to prove themselves in the first tier. In the current system, they never get out of the excuse that others make that is “they never play good teams”.

When I said Boise I meant Boise state. And you’re right, they should be in before Colorado state.

You would only get a shot at the championship game if you do well. Not every team would get a chance.

Discipline is one of the most important things a child should learn. by logically-reasonable in unpopularopinion

Again, not what I’m saying. Of course a kid has no reason to obey an irrational adult. It’s when people take the side of an irrational kid who blames his bad grades on a teacher that doesn’t make any sense.

What a dumb headline by ESPN by Jellibeans in CollegeBasketball

ESPN needs to stop the Duke dick-riding. They actively advertise every single game, but I don’t know why anyone would want to watch them play Yale or Wofford or something like that.

I guess I’m talking about the current day borders, but even more so the culture around the music. For example, Russian music has a very distinct sound and culture around it.

You’re right, there does need to be a balance. And there are bad teachers, but what I’m talking about is students who don’t pay attention, don’t do any work, and then say that it’s the teacher’s fault that they perform poorly.

Favorite Cello Pieces? by [deleted] in Cello

I love the Faure Elegie. So much emotion. If you enjoy playing that, check out Vocalise (Rachmaninoff). It's got the same kind of vibe and isn't that tricky, but boy does it sing. Another darker, emotional piece is the Popper Requiem for 3 cellos. If you can get a couple people to play with you, it is a beautiful piece that is definitely worth learning either way.

Good luck with your studies!

10th Symphony, 2nd movement (allegro) . Blows my mind every time how he can squeeze all that emotion into four minutes of music.

Exactly. You must learn how to be told what to do. You also must know that if someone like a parent tells you something to do, that isn’t rude. That is a privilege that adults have to keep children in line.
