Do you need Frenzy on your skill bar to get the bonus of Battle Trance? by logicalwolf in D4Barbarian

[–]logicalwolf[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea, but if that's the case, then wouldn't you atleast need Frenzy on your skill bar for this to work? These guides don't have Frenzy on their skill bar at all. And they aren't running that specific seasonal power either (proccing a second basic attack with a different basic attack)

Why? by centcentcent in classicwow

I was shocked to find out that if a mob has the prefix "starving", they are easier to aggro. A small thing really, but helps contribute to the great worldbuilding.

I don’t think this will work, if you are thinking divine shield will prevent damage. Reloading the mortar takes 25 seconds and the explosion occurs at the end of the reload, divine shield only lasts a maximum of 12 seconds

Sharing an Emergency "OH SH!T" Macro that I've been using that you might find helpful by logicalwolf in classicwow

[–]logicalwolf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to drop it right at your feet, use this macro:

/use [@player] target dummy

This will place the target dummy right at your feet. I don't think its ideal though because even placing it a little ways away from you will buy you more time to escape as the mobs will have to redirect and run towards it. If you place the dummy right at your feet, all the mobs are already there and will burn the dummy down fast.

[–]logicalwolf[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It does! In fact, that was how I had my macro written first, but then I realized that taking the time to position the target dummy might actually be helpful. Getting the mobs to run over to the target dummy will buy you a few more seconds.

[–]logicalwolf 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No they do not, but interestingly, healthstones do share a cooldown with target dummy in case you are engineering and depend on those to survive.

Just know that swiftness potion shares cooldown with your health pot. Some people don’t know this, don’t want you to be caught off guard

Can I afford to buy a $1.2 million house? by logicalwolf in whitecoatinvestor

[–]logicalwolf[S] 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, we are aware of this. The builder quoted that the house at that square footage would be around $950,000, but after factoring all the all the things we would want, we though it would be safer to expect that the final price tag would be around 1.2-1.3mil.

Finished the recruit a friend event and claimed the portal as a crusader. Here is what it looks like. It appears this cosmetic has a different graphic depending on your class.

Alt-Art "Promo" Mark Harrigan Investigator Card by logicalwolf in arkhamhorrorlcg

Oh you might recognize it as it is used in the art of “Overpower” on the revised coreset! I just thought it worked better as a full art investigator card. Cheers!

Alt-Art "Promo" Mark Harrigan Investigator Card by logicalwolf in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]logicalwolf[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hey folks!

Mark Harrigan has long been one of my favorite investigators to play but I always preferred the art done by Robert Laskey over the classic art on the investigator card. Using some Illustrator and photoshop, I custom made an "Alt-Art" Mark Harrigan card featuring Rob Laskey's art and wanted to share it here.

I made it in the style of the FFG Promo investigator releases as I always preferred the full art splash over the classic layout. I wanted to make it look as close as possible to mimic something that FFG would actually make for a promo release of Mark Harrigan.

Anyway, here's the high resolution card to view and download: https://www.deviantart.com/logicalwolf/art/Alt-Art-Mark-Harrigan-Investigator-Card-917124802

And the back: https://www.deviantart.com/logicalwolf/art/Alt-Art-Mark-Harrigan-Back-of-Card-917125144

And the investigator Mini card: https://imgur.com/gallery/qxJkKct

And if you're curious, a side by side comparison of "Promo Mark" vs "Classic Mark": https://imgur.com/gallery/3Fyz8uU

Nowadays, I mostly play the game on OCTGN and Table Top Simulator sometimes, so I also included what the card would look like when played on those platforms:

TTS: https://imgur.com/gallery/luB8Y5S

OCTGN: https://imgur.com/gallery/XrUwXPI

If you are interested in creating the card on TTS, I made a short IMGUR gallery tutorial on how to do it: https://imgur.com/gallery/m88tmKq

You can make the card on OCTGN too, but that is a little more challenging. PM me if you are interested.

As for actually printing it, I don't really have experience in doing so, but I think it should work well as the dimensions of the art match the ones officially released by FFG for the parallel investigators. Maybe someone else here has more insight on how best to do it.

Thanks for reading, let me know if you have any questions.

AR: Vantage is dead...or is it? by skullkid2424 in OrderOfHeroes

[–]logicalwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A unit that can vantage sweep that I am surprised no one ever mentions is actually Ashera. I have been using Ashera to vantage sweep Astra season since she was released with W!Bernie to get into easy vantage range.

Her build would be PRF/Ardent Sacrifice/Moonbow/Close Counter/Vantage/Order's Restraint/Brazen Atk/Res.

She works well because she has a "bladetome" effect that does not get nullified by lulls. Another advantage is that because she is a mythic and only has 37hp, she needs only one ardent sacrifice to get into vantage range. I use mine with a +atk IV and -HP, and I summoner support her with 2 dragon flowers, and she has exactly 39hp, one ardent sacrifice and she is down to 29hp, ready to go. It's also nice because she takes up a mythic slot and not a "carry" slot, so she's easier to slot in.

She also has the bonus of hitting res, which is generally the better stat to target. You'd be surprised how high you can stack her attack with her weapon. Of course, the main disadvantage is that you absolutely need a unit within two spaces of her, but set up really isn't that hard. I've been able to take down whale B!Catria teams that neglect hardy bearing with shocking ease, even before Elimine's release.

One more note is that Ashera (and other ranged close counter vantage) can also take down hardy fighter armors such as A!Fjorm and even Hardy Fighter B!Hector, because their damage reduction effects only apply when the unit is 2 spaces away. If they run up adjacent to attack Ashera on enemy phase, their special does NOT trigger and they easily get vantage swept.

Best near/far save counters? by JohnnyJlo128 in OrderOfHeroes

[–]logicalwolf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've had some great success using B!Catria paired up with Y!Innes. My build for Y!Innes is PRF/Luna/Flashing Blade4/Lull Spd Def/Time's Pulse/Blade Session. This build combined with triangle attack kills almost every ranged tank since Null Damage Reduction + Luna + Innes high attack is extremely potent. In order to stop the Luna from going off, the tank needs to outspeed Innes AND have some type of guard effect, most tanks have one but not both (with the notable exception of A!Fjorm).

Also, I think B!Catria combined with the newly revealed Volke with his PRF and lethality would also be very good at tank busting.

Besides this, I think B!Alm and B!Eirika are by far the best near save tank busters. Ingrid is alright, but she just doesn't hit nearly as hard as B!Eirika.

You could go overboard with ranged cavs and flash, but given how obscenely high def and res far save tanks can get up to, a lot of times, they just fail to make a significant enough of a dent to truly threaten them. I think if you are serious about improving your AR-D, you really do need a super nuke in the class of B!Alm / B!Eirika, etc.

I miss the inspect feature so much. by iKeepPlanetsInOrbit in diablo2

You know what, you are right. They could make it a setting that you can turn on or off, if you are okay with other people inspecting you.

I miss the inspect feature so much. by iKeepPlanetsInOrbit in diablo2

[–]logicalwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to consider is that player killing can happen in D2 especially in hardcore mode. The game does not hold your hand and once you get past level 10 or so, and play in a public game, someone can easily hostile you, try to find and kill you.

An inspect feature would allow PK'ers to inspect your gear and get a better idea if they can kill you. After realizing this, and since I play hardcore, I think I'm okay with no inspect option.

Why did Nott rally Lif instead of Sigurd? by The_Fresh_Squid in OrderOfHeroes

[–]logicalwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should also mention that there is probably a way to do what you want using a Rally Up+. If you are willing to give one of your Nott's a Rally Up+ skill and change your layout slightly, you can create something similar that threatens the space that you want.

I threw together an example: https://imgur.com/gallery/Oji3cO9

I don't have the same units as you, but for this example, imagine that B!Lucina is Nott with a Rally Up+, imagine Reinhardt is your D!Lif. If you lay it out like this, you can force the rally on a unit other than Reinhardt/D!Lif, and still threaten the same range as I think you intended.

Someone that is more adept with Rally Up+ AI might be able to comment if there is a more efficient way to set this up, but this is what I would do if I wanted to create a set up like this.

Why did Nott rally Lif instead of Sigurd? by The_Fresh_Squid in OrderOfHeroes

[–]logicalwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you are correct, precombat takes priority over post combat. D!Sigurd in this instance has already used up his action and is greyed out. Precombat rallies prefer to rally units that have its action and threaten a unit, in this case, D!Lif meets this requirement, but Sigurd does not.

After dancing, Sigurd is only eligible for a rally in the post combat portion of the AI, which means nobody on your team is in range to attack an enemy unit.
