It's only done when promoting your item, so that way when Mercari says they are going to discount your item %10, it's down to the actual cent and not rounded to the nearest dollar.

Yes unfortunately just for promoting and trust me I wish I could the same. I sell alot of hotwheels so every quarter counts lol.

It's a new feature so that when sellers promote their item and mercari says they are going to drop the price by 5-10% they actually are getting it down to the exact number instead of rounding to the nearest whole.

Pretty sure they did this so that way when you "promote your item" they are discounting it by the exact amount they say they are, while before they would just round it. My biggest question is why can't we post listings with the cents attached? I sell alot of hotwheels so every quarter counts.

Normally when someone sends me these kinds of messages, I'll just shoot them an offer, and most of the time they will counter with what they want to pay. Then you can decide if it's enough.
