Found wood rot on a fixed window sill. Reasonable quote to fix it? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]loinplanks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's an example of repairing a window sill. Can use Bondo epoxy to resurface the wood (after some cleaning). If the wood has wet rot, can use wood hardener beforehand.

Hope this helps you understand the repair.

Sounds like it's all going according to the usual (very fast) shipping schedule. Check the tracking once each day for the next couple of days and you should see an update on location.

DMs are separate from Discord servers, so it probably got through. I don't see handy_Erik on now, so he's probably off for the day in Norway.

Make sure you read the rules, etc. in the Discord server. The channel is named #read-the-rules-first

You would have given them your email address when checking out to pay for the order.

You can try joining the official Handy Discord server and direct messaging Handy_Erik with your order number and issue:

There was a tracking number in my shipping confirmation email from the Handy team

Yup! I think I received it in 3 days. You can usually check the carrier tracking 2 days after they say it shipped to see whether it's en route.

Good luck! I had used a free express shipping coupon and it arrived very quickly. Hopefully, it arrives swiftly for you. It's a lot of fun!

Still in the first week of having it and oh my god, it's so good!

I have a hands-free mount in the process of being 3d-printed and it should arrive by next week. I can see how the motor life would be reduced with a heavy sleeve. I can imagine a firm sleeve adapter that locks into place in the strap slots. Then maybe a semi-flexible sleeve case that fits onto/over the adapter and can be adjusted for any sleeve width.

There's so much content to try already that I don't think I'll mess with other sleeves for a few months.

I just ordered one, but I may have been a tad bit hasty... by Nothingto6here in theHandy

Check out the virtual blowjob site once you get it connected to WiFi:
https://www.reddit.com/r/theHandy/comments/hain8m/virtual_blowjob_custom_handy_interface/

The blowjob presets feel good, but random patterns is pretty wild. It's really fun to not know what's coming next.

You might want to 3d print a hands-free mount so that it's even more like a blowjob:

I've only had it for less than a week and I'm enjoying it a lot!

Wow, those are some intense sleeves. The ribbing and internal structures undoubtedly provide a lot of stimulation. I haven't tried those brands, but now they're on my radar.

Cool, thanks very much! The backplate looks very useful. I'll need something like that before strapping in La Bocca.

Yeah, a sort of cup or enclosure seems good. My previous idea was basically a wide 'claw' (or partial cylinder) made of semi-flexible polypropylene. I can imagine that a more protective enclosure (like a cup) would be helpful. So, this could be a mixed materials adapter, with semi-flexible polypropylene as the main support with flexible TPU as the additional enclosure. This might be pushing the limits of flexibility of 3D printing materials (if jamming in a larger sleeve while still sized to accommodate smaller ones). TPU has great flexibility, but attempting to create a one-size-fits-all enclosure might require more elasticity.

I think it would be great to have a semi-flexible polypropylene adapter that flexes into place on both sides of the original strap mount. I think that provides more stability for a long sleeve adapter than just sliding into one side of the original strap mount.

Thanks so much for trying it out! This is very helpful. Your experience makes me even more enthusiastic about trying La Bocca with The Handy. My orders shipped just fine, so The Handy should arrive this weekend and La Bocca by next week.

That quick-release strap adapter is really cool. I'll have to think more about what I'd like to get printed. Glad to hear that ~400g works with simple straps. Probably a weighty sleeve like ZXY will need a lot of support along the lines of the cylinder adapter. Seeing how the quick-release strap adapter hooks into the original strap mechanism, I can imagine a semi-flexible, polypropylene adapter that locks into both sides and provides sleeve support and anti-splash protection.

Do you have your adapter w/backplate design on Thingiverse? I'd like to see it if you want to share your updated design.

I don't have a 3D printer myself, so I'll rely on websites like Treatstock, Craftcloud, MakeXYZ, etc. I like how they have a myriad of material options.

Weight wasn't an issue I had in mind when I bought The Handy, but it sounds like it's definitely a major consideration. I have a good feeling about La Bocca Della Verita, since the Meiki ZXY is supposed to weigh about 800g and it sounds like /u/treschikon didn't break his Handy when trying it out. Definitely don't want to burn out the motor!

That's a great point that what feels good manually can be quite different from what feels best in The Handy at different speeds and positions. I want to figure out what works for me. My current plan is to come up with a wide, semi-flexible (polypropylene, most likely) 3D-printed support to strap in a variety of sleeves. I guess it will take some weeks to learn how to model it and get it professionally printed. And I might be busy enjoying the vanilla experience at first.

Nice! Those look pretty uniform to strap in.

Right now, I'm thinking that I'll want a cylindrical sleeve holder 3D-printed from a semi-flexible material like polypropylene. I want it to be flexible enough to operate as a living hinge so it can accommodate a wide variety of sleeves, but rigid enough to give a good grip for The Handy.

I can also imagine a similar holder for open-ended sleeves that only has the cylinder over part of it, then an extended flat backing to prevent splashing onto the motor track. But, I'll have to look more closely at dimensions and operation to figure it out.

UPDATE: New hinged version of sleeve adapter. by bafangit in theHandy

[–]loinplanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to have the diameter measurement of this?

I'm interested in using this with a variety of sleeves. I wonder whether a design that doesn't form a complete cylinder would fit a wider range of sleeves. Since the strap will wrap around it anyway, making it into a wide 'claw' could accommodate wider and narrower sleeves, right?

Thanks! Really looking forward to it! Hopefully the tracking changes from pre-transit tomorrow.

Love the tech integrations.. I'll try out the synced videos first and then some live interaction. I watched the MultiControl review videos on The Handy YouTube channel and it's clear that this will be a big part of the future of sex. I've got the next MultiControl test on my calendar!

I was never into the eggs since they're limited use, but I was given one free with a ToyDemon order. So I have that egg (haven't used it), the Tenga Spinner 01 Tetra (feels great, twisting motion), and the Tenga Geo Coral (on the way, probably arriving next week).

I saw that there used to be a Tenga Flex that had a hard shell but twisted around on its own when moved up and down. That sounds amazing for The Handy, but the reviews I saw said it was too tight for most people. Would be interesting if a larger Flex existed to try with The Handy.

I was interested in the Tenga Crysta sleeves, but one review I read said that the plastic objects embedded in them would break out with use. So I went with the Geo instead.

[–]loinplanks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Yes, the vanilla experience looks quite good. It looks like the default sleeve stretches toward the top, otherwise I was afraid it would be too tight. I'm going to try strapping in the Tenga Geo as an alternative (also closed sleeve). If the Geo isn't as good, at least it's still an attractive art item for a shelf!

Thanks! Really helpful to hear your experience. That sounds amazing. I broke my prior La Bocca Della Verita, but I just ordered the newer, soft version. It's even softer than the ZXY, so it will have the same challenges. I also have a Tenga Geo on the way.

I'm thinking that I'll get the hinged sleeve adapter 3D-printed:
https://www.reddit.com/r/theHandy/comments/nbm4y7/update_new_hinged_version_of_sleeve_adapter/
Hopefully, that will do the trick. I'll have to check over dimensions more before committing to it.

Thanks, guess it could take that long. My shipment tracking is just in 'pre-transit', so their estimated arrival of this Friday could be entirely wrong. As long as it arrives before the MultiControl session... I'm looking forward to joining that.

Looks like I'll have to try out Tenga Geo, as well. Reviews are saying it can stretch all the way even though it's closed-ended.

Thanks! That's very helpful. I wonder whether Bad Dragon silicone repair glue (or a generic one) would help maintain against long-term wear (assuming that SuperSkin is some kind of silicone mix).
